church vs health care, part II

For those c of s apologists who dismissed my last post by defending Wiseman’s motivations for opposing the health care legislation as being purely to save us from barbaric psychiatric treatments, below is the latest CCHR/c of s campaign material being blast mailed across the internet. I submit it evidences that either the c of s campaign is merely using the psych button to elicit broadside objections from Miscavologists because they are carrying out  DM’s right-wing politics, or they are soliciting broadside objections as a tactic to sink it because they really object to the psych appropriations. Either way you look at it, I believe their tactics are deceitful and unethical.  Other views are welcome.

Subject: INFLUENCE THE HEALTH CARE DEBATE!!!!

Dear ,
As you all have probably figured-out, the vote on Saturday nite was simply a proceedural vote to allow the Obamacare Bill to be DEBATED in the Senate.
The Debate will begin on MONDAY, 30 Nov.  HOPEFULLY the debate will last into NEXT YEAR (2010) when NOTHING BIG will be passed as it’s too close to elections and we might “remember” who voted for it!  But they’re set on passing it THIS YEAR.
HOWEVER, we need to get enough of the Dems to be AGAINST it or various items in it so it can be made into a NOTHING bill.  We need at least 3 or 4 to stop a philibuster.  Hopefully MORE!
It’s really important that we FAX the Senators (it’s far more noticeable with a floor full of faxes) and give them some good reasons to vote AGAINST the Bill.  And make sure they KNOW that you’re ANGRY about what’s happening! Don’t be RUDE, but Let them KNOW.  That makes points with them.  They don’t like angry constituants, especially in an election years!
Give them talking points:
GOVT TAKE OVER of health care (“Public (HA HA) Option” (HA HA)
Our freedoms being taken away
IGNORING the Constitution
Abortion (BIG button to have Feds pay for it),
too much money to pay for it,
PSYCHS (unfortunately this is not a button that I’ve HEARD from THEM, but we can certainly GO FOR IT, as it’s really the KEY for those of us who understand),
forcing those who do NOT WANT insurance to pay anyway,
Illegal Immigrants being “covered” by insurance for FREE,
Write about whatever YOUR button is!!
Note that if the Bill is passed, IT won’t take effect till about 2014, but we’ll start PAYING FOR IT in 2010 or as soon as they can change the tax laws!!
The biggest items for them appear to be Public Option, Fed-covered Abortions, Illegal Immigrant sponsoring, and spending too much money (of course they’re happy to TAX us in advance to pay for it as above as a solution).  Some will vote for ONE of the above but won’t vote if ANOTHER of the items above is included.  We have to get them ALL out and KILL THE BILL ALTOGETHER!!
You have the whole weekend to mock-up your letters and fax them!  DO WELL!!  Save your letters for when the debate is OVER and they’re ready to VOTE on it.  Then we send them AGAIN.
Love, Judy

Below is a targeted list of U.S. Senators that could determine the
outcome of Saturday’s vote on the Health Care Bill which is LOADED with
psych programs. Even if you have ignored past ‘calls-to-action’, this is
the one you cannot turn your head AWAY from. Its been made very simple!

PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING TODAY:

1) Call TODAY (or fax) the 13 Senators on the list below. Minimally the
first 3!

2) When the receptionist answers all you say is, “I would like to leave
a message for the Senator”. Then say: ” Let the Senator know that I am
opposed to the Health Bill and want the Senator to vote against it.”

3) Pass this email along to all your friends!

Thanks!!

  1. I beginning to wonder if the Scienos don’t have some far fetched dream of becoming the republican’s new “religious right” strong-arm propaganda machine and darlings. The wing nut christians served their purposes very well and were rewarded with far too much political power for awhile. Seems the Scienos want to take a page from the play book.

I’ve always thought the c of s and the republican party were practically made for each other. No room for independent thought, and if you don’t dogmatically follow their agenda, then you’re out on your ass.
Their attempt to deep six legislation that would greatly help their Sea-Org and underpaid staff is just pathetic. (I know sea-org members don’t receive any measurable amount of health care and to an extent same goes for the staff) “Govt. Health care” would be the only chance these poor dedicated Scienos have for decent health care — or any health care for that matter. Maybe that’s the c of s worry. That they might be forced to actually pay a penny or two towards health coverage for their staff and sea org members is probably a really big motivating factor for the cult’s big push against this legislation.
So sad they can be so short sighted against something that is so desperately needed in this country.

  2. “philibuster” – LOL. I guess the spell checker didn’t catch that one.

About what I would expect from quasi-literate pin-headed fanatics. It seems to be the type of clientele that Miscavology attracts these days.

What is most hypocritical is that they are running “governance via ARCX’s” on the elected officials, while they have elevated the “product as an overt act” to an art form in their own “organizations”.

  3. I was just taking the Middle Path, Marty, in those posts. Not everything that comes from the CoS is evil, just as it’s not all good.

I don’t know who Judy is and I didn’t receive this comm, which I wouldn’t support, anyway.

As an aside, I was raised in a country with nationalized health care and it’s not Utopia. There’s a lot of waiting in apathetic lines just to get to speak to apathetic staff who don’t much want to help. Just like the DMV.

  4. Is it possible to move this and all further politically oriented topics to another forum created by you, Marty?

I feel it is diluting and dispersing the purpose for which this blog was formed: a safe place to openly find and discover an alternative and Independent Community to the current church regime.

Which is not to say bringing political issues up to view and discuss is not productive; just not at this forum.

A sticky wicket of a situation for sure.

  5. I don’t know for certain that this is an official church forwarded message rather than a parishioners point of view – but the sad part of this is that I have seen parishioners who forward someone else’s agenda (such as suggested in this email) without personal inspection of the issue being discussed.

While I feel it is acceptable to encourage others to view the issues at hand, and activiley participate in any issue it is just wrong to have the expectation that others will respond because they have been told to. Actually, not only told to but told how to and which buttons to push.

  6. Latest e-mail from Bruce Wiseman asking for more “donations” from the Public Scientologists:

    “Dear All,

As you may or may not know, there is currently a health care bill in the US Senate that contains a number of provisions that forward
psychiatry’s jihad to screen and drug every American .

There was a vote on the bill this evening on whether or not it should even proceed to the Senate floor for debate.

Sixty (60) votes were required for debate to proceed, and 60 votes were cast this evening in favor of proceeding with debate.

This was NOT a vote on the bill itself, but just on whether the bill could proceed.

And while this is not good news, I want to emphasize that THE BATTLE IS NOT OVER!

The bill now goes to the floor of the Senate and debate will commence Monday November 30th. The debate could likely to go on for weeks.

Obviously there are key portions of this bill that we want taken out completely.

CCHR Int will keep you advised of what actions will be needed going forward.

Stay tuned! Stay informed and be ready to Rock.

And folks, call 1-323-467-4242 with a donation of any amount, so we can keep this machine greased!

    Best,
    Bruce”

Where is our IAS donations spent on? Aren’t the public Scientologists told that IAS is fighting Psychs?
How comes Bruce and CCHR Int are still asking public for more donations?

Does DM think that public are stupid? And really don’t know what is going on behind the scene?

  7. CRITICAL!! From jacksmith – Working Class

My Fellow Americans and People Of The World

A strong Government-run MEDICARE like Public Option is CRITICAL!!

I have to tell you now that the H1N1 virus is a manmade WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION! and TERROR! It is a WEAPONIZED version of a flu virus. It has swept the planet infecting millions. And causing a global pandemic that has killed tens of thousands, and injured millions.

The H1N1 virus is the product of the DISGRACEFUL, GREED DRIVEN PRIVATE FOR PROFIT MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX! It was released in the U.S. in Texas in early January of this year, but not recognized until around April in California. The reason I know this is because when it came to America, it came to see me FIRST! How sweet…

This was around the time the MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX! assaulted the Whitehouse with all their devils deals to cripple and weaken YOUR! healthcare reform. Especially your right to have a single payer system like HR676 (Medicare For All) which most of you wanted.

They don’t even want you to have your HUGE!!! compromise position of a strong government-run MEDICARE like Public Option CHOICE. To compete with their DISGRACEFUL, GREED DRIVEN, MURDEROUS, PRIVATE FOR PROFIT PRODUCT (The single most deadly and dangerous product sold in America).

They also wanted to take away your rights to have your government meet it’s responsibility to use it’s full power to regulate, negotiate, and control drug cost, healthcare cost and quality. Something every other civilized country in the developed World has done for it’s people. Their Greed! moral degeneracy and lack of patriotism knows no bounds.

Many of you will remember that before we knew about H1N1. I posted a open message to the President and Congress warning them to be vigilant about their health, and cautious about any medical advice they received. As I said then “they will not hesitate to try and hurt you”.

The U.S. and the World have been under a BIOLOGICAL TERROR ATTACK! for over a year now. It is CRITICAL that We The People Of The United States take away control of our healthcare system from the GREED DRIVEN MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!

For our own National security, and the security of the world.

A Strong, government-run, MEDICARE like Public Option CHOICE. Available to everyone on day one, with the full unfettered power of the federal government to regulate, negotiate, and control cost and quality. Would be the most workable way to deal with this global crisis at this time. Including patent suspensions as needed for national security or the greater good.

As an American I invite the peoples of the World to help us fix our healthcare crisis. And bring pressure on our government to meet it’s responsibility to protect global security by controlling, and removing the corrupting influence of GREED and the PRIVATE FOR PROFIT motivations from healthcare in the U.S. and around the World.

I call on the governments of the World and the global intelligence community to track down these MASS MURDERERS, and bring them to justice. CONNECT THE DOTS! And be vigilant that they don’t slip in another viral strain on you under the cloak of H1N1 sequestration.

Further, the proposed patent protection on biologic’s must be stripped from the US bill. And greatly shorten/restricted, or abolished completely. This is a grave danger to humanity and global security.

I think President Obama is doing the best he can at playing the disastrous deck of cards he inherited from the previous administration. And I think he is doing an excellent job. But the wolves and devils of the medical industrial complex! are trying to exploit, and take advantage of his good heart, and desperate desire to help suffering Americans. But we must be strong and insist that healthcare reform be done right for the American people. Or everyone loose’s.

This is all I can say in a message post. I’ll try to find a way to tell you more later.

God Bless You My Fellow Human Beings

    jacksmith – Working Class

p.s. The so-called nominal H1N1 virus is designed in such a way as to make it more lethal to children and young adults. The medical community must be more vigilant of secondary bacterial infections in the young caused by H1N1. And remember, a viral infection is also a transfer of genetic code to you. Think about it, and be vigilant. 😦

  8. I believe you are making a big mistake.

You are entering Politics with Miscavige abberations, and it is a very big mistake. Since you posted this blog 2-4 days ago, I personally have gotten feedback from at least 5 people who are not in agreement with this all.

It’s no secret as reported in the first St. Pete Times article that you campaigned for Obama in 2008 and that’s fine. What’s true for you is true for you.

Please leave LRH and source out of this particular website. Set up another one.

You are eatblishing a political platform with/vs Scientology, and this is not for your original cause. Just because right now a huge political stage on the Health Care Plan is about to come forth, it is just wrong to use your platform and website to forward your voice.

  9. This came out of CCHR? This kind of crap belongs on Faux News, misspellings and all. Philibuster? Good god. As if the government isn’t already heavily, heavily, heavily involved in health care already.

  10. As far as I understand it Marty, the majority of Americans support some kind of health care reform.

That said I don’t see Wiseman & Co. doing anything constructive here by simply opposing it.

Besides that isn’t even CCHR’s hat at least according to the GO’s and Directives I’ve read.

Also according to the Code of a Scientologist they are supposed to be cleaning up the field of mental health, which would probably include Black Dianetics, not getting involved in a games condition with a majority of the American public.

  11. So, is there an IRS complaints line that such emails can go to? Or how about forwarding them to your federal politicians!

I just read through the Health Care Part 1 thread and found the discussion fascinating. It’s really good to hear a diversity of views, and to know that many of you Independents are not of the DM “Global Obliteration of Psychiatry” mindset.

    Thanks, everybody.

I was particularly happy to read Marty’s and others’ comments about the need for decent programs to help the “insane” (most of us wogs don’t use that word any more, but I appreciate that “mentally ill” probably won’t work for many of you). It has always been of great concern to me that I haven’t seen talk, let alone action, from the CoS about really helping those people who aren’t “able”. (NB. If it happens, it’s just that I haven’t seen it. It’s not visible.) So, thanks for that aspect of the discussion.

Someone highlighted the work of the Salvation Army. They are magnificent and are highly respected in the secular world for their loving and effective work for the poor and marginalised. One night a year, the Premier, leading political and community leaders and

It was truly heartening to read your conversation here and to know that you don’t all subscribe to the “all psychs are evil” mindset.

If you’re interested, there’s a great series of radio interviews celebrating Thomas Szasz’s 90th birthday in April this year: two with Dr Szasz and one with two Psychiatrists who specialise in psychiatric ethics. The transcripts and mp3’s can be downloaded starting from here: http://www.abc.net.au/rn/allinthemind/stories/2009/2530830.htm

And for the Americans among you, I hope you get a workable health system soon. The labelling of anything communal as “socialism” peeves me too. (Down with socialist roads and fire departments!)

  12. martyrathbun09

Barney, you misunderstand me. I am pointing out that they are playing politics. That is in violation of LRH policy, IRS exemption law (which per LRH’s last wishes were to be followed to the T). I am also pointing out that the fashion in which they are doing it is dishonest and counter-productive even to CCHR’s purpose. Read the material before reacting. Don’t you see they are promoting NOT to bring up psychiatric appropriations because it is not a popular position with Congressmen? That is the ONLY legitimate thing they can be asserting, per their bylaws, per the IRS exemption application, and per LRH policy. Instead, they promoting that hot buttons be pushed like “Abortion.” Please, if there is one institution that has forfeited its right to rail about abortion appropriation it is C of Miscavology. Based on DM’s cancellation of procreation (in direct violation of long-standing LRH policy) on the heels of LRH’s death, abortion has become an institutional requisite. And while I never was involved in the logistics of that line, I am willing to bet more than one SO abortion was paid for with state and/or federal funds. If my political views slip into the picture in pointing that out, well I am a living, breathing person who has viewpoints. To exclude them entirely would make me something less than human I think.

  13. martyrathbun09

Huck, Thanks. See my reply to Barney Rubble.

  14. martyrathbun09

Unity, you have touched on some truth here. Fact of the matter is c of s has ran in right wing circles for three decades. There are a number of factors that have lead to that. But, probably the biggest one in my view is that those circles think DM is somebody. He has perfected their dreams; that is unlimited wealth produced by a right-less, oppressive slave population.

  15. martyrathbun09

jacksmith, both I’m glad I don’t buy into the viral/germ theory of illness.

  16. Old RPF Comrade

    Re-publican Health Care Plan:

    1. Don’t get sick.
    2. If you do get sick; DIE FAST!

Sure in Canada you might wait a little while if you need something big, but you get excellent healthcare with regular checkups and preventitive medicine – this is not so bad people…

  17. I trust the motives and the purposes of this group in terms of freeing individuals from spiritual traps and don’t wish to get sidetracked by discussions of partisan politics, rolfing, psychiatry, or other entertainments.

I would prefer that this site not get into supporting the unionization and degradation of healthcare that is incorporated in most of the current “reform” bills.

Like the current Global Warming legislation, the current healthcare bills are sweeping fixes full of payola and pork for problems that are incorrectly defined. In both cases the actual product is greater government control, not improved conditions for citizens.

The fact that these bills are being rammed through before being read is just one red flag among many.

I am a conservative, neither Republican or Democrat, and have many friends scattered all over the political spectrum. We get along and do business together because of our basic decency and our ability to trust each other.

Finding areas in which we disagree is not productive in my opinion. Let us focus on those things that will bring us together to achieve desirable goals.

  18. Barney,
I understand what you are saying. Again, the point of the thing here is that LRH says in Politics, Freedom From, the church’s right target and he very clearly, emphatically and with no question, wanted the CofS, RTC, and CST, to be clean on the IRS tax code 501 (c) point.

Read the available Author’s Trust docs on the internet and you’ll see.

This isn’t about suddenly becoming a new political blog, it isn’t about suddenly supporting ignorant and brutal treatment, it IS about DM going completely against LRH policy and express directions.

Nobody here disagrees with your points on the efforts to handle the field of mental health.

  19. This is more than a blatant violation of the IRS agreement. Once the media learn that Scientology is surreptitiously trying to undermine the health care bill, they will connect the dots and point out Scientology’s long history of dubious claims and medical interference. Lisa McPherson, Jeremy Perkins and Jett Travolta will be back in the news again.

  20. crashing upwards

I agree with Heather, it would be appropriate to send the CCHR political directives right to the federal authorities and to the congressmen targetted. I am sure the legislative aides will enjoy the insight CCHR offers into how a certain lobbying group percieves them and how their offices reacts to certain buttons. They will get a good laugh. It would also point out the WHO behind certain E-mails.
But in all honesty, there is so much traffic on this issue from lobbying groups that the legislative offices know what is going on. CCHR’s attempt to influence anything is just a drop in the bucket. They may think they matter, but in the end it will be a case of halucinogenic cause if its defeated.
I personally think it should pass if it means getting 30 million more people insured. And somewhere in all this is a big lie about the insurance industry opposing it. Why should they when it means more people forced to buy insurance. This is just a game. This thing passes at the end of the day.

  21. In our Land Osa was even working together with a party that is far right and was doing footwork for them and was asking Scientologist to help on those campaigns. I hated it, was has it to do with auditung people ?
Nevertheless I can agree with that we should change the subject and rekindle our basic purpose, put coal onto it and don’t concentrate on stops but onto the purpose and dream of a new C.O.S or whatever that will be and not take care about politics but audits the politicians and trains and educate them. Isn’t that the purpose ?

    Have a nice Day !

  22. I recently got an email from the DSA of my local org. It had nothing to do about health care. Instead, she was asking if I could sponsor her in a bowling tournament. Huh? I thought. Reading further she indicated this bowling tournament was raising money to make the payments on the building that was purchased as part of their “Idle Org” program. Staff members are being pulled off post to bowl in order to pay for these over-sized buildings. I don’t remember anywhere in LRH policy that he discusses using bowling tournaments as a means to make the mortgage payments on one’s building.

  23. Heather,

This is the link to the official IRS form:

    Click to access f13909.pdf

(Note that Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed as it is in PDF format.) The filing intructions are included in the form.

  24. To the Swiss and German lurking here !
    Hello everybody !

Sorry for changing the subject of the thread. But I’m very curious.
If one looks at alexa ,one sees that the amount of german speaking people visiting this homepage is beetween i 20 to 30%.
    Who are you ?
Do we sometimes meet at events and don’t talk openly ?
Are we friends and withholding ?
Does somebody want to connect up ?
We should team up and beat those americans as LRH said in a Lrh Ed for EU, where he speaks about the EU Spirit is always lightenung his heart.
Where are all those Vikings, Wilhem Tells ?
Eine Antwort von irgendjemanden würde mich freuen.
Ich bin sicher dass die Seite von Marty 100% sicher ist.

Mes amis ou etes vous ?

  25. So far this blog has stayed on course in my view.

It is primarily a blog dedicated to exposing the abuses of one man, DM, who far from helping create an enlightened society has been harming and hurting people who seek happiness and denying them happiness. The list is endless.

I had to chuckle as I reread the Chapter on Anger in the Dharmmpada:

… Listen, Atula. This is not new,
It is an old saying —
“They blame you for being silent,
They blame you when you talk too much
And when you talk too little.”
Whatever you do, they blame you.

    The world always finds
A way to praise and a way to blame.
It always has and it always will.

But who dares blame the man
    Whom the wise continually praise,
Whose life is virtuous and wise,
Who shines like a coin of pure gold?

Beware of the anger of the body.
    Master the body.
    Let it serve truth.

Beware of the anger of the mouth.
    Master your words.
    Let them serve truth.

Beware of the anger of the mind.
    Master your thoughts.
    Let them serve truth.

    The wise have mastered
    Body, word and mind.

    They are the true masters.”

Perhaps I’ll start calling Marty, Atula

    WH

Moreover, it is through our enemies we learn.

  26. I think it is important that we be aware of the political agendas being pushed by the C of S. Frankly I don’t want ANY Church at the helm of government, overtly or covertly and I especially do not want the DM style of management to become the style of management of government. It would be hell on earth with no one to turn to. IMO the current C of S would create a totalitarian nightmare the like of which has never been seen on earth before. So Marty, you have my complete agreement and I hope to hell you will continue to raise the alarm!

  27. Stick to Scientology related topics. You are out of your depth here. As a libertarian, I would not have charecterized DM’s political utterances as strictly right wing (I heard much opposition to Bush policy during events) ..and enough Republican bashing. Every indiviudal politician and idea should be evaluated on its merrits rather than with the broad brush.

This is my last post and visit to your site. You were a DM henchman for years participating in multiple human rights abuses that most of us can not even contemplate. I think now you are just are driven by a combination of revenge and the need for your own sphere of influence. Honestly I think DM and many from the loyal inner circle are birds of the same feather, and I don’t really want to be associated with you and more that the Cof S.

  28. Eleanor Roosevelt

@Tom, way up top, et al, who picked up on ‘philibuster’ — WD. (Isn’t ‘philipuster’ when a legislator, for hours and days, reads out the name of e/one in the US named ‘Phil’ to impede a bill? LOL

    Okay, humor aside.

Bravo, kudos, bully for you, way to get, etc., etc. Marty, for posting this. The first step crossing the line in the sand, venturing into the realm of politics was taken by the quasi (psuedo?) secular arm of the cofs. So keep on postin’!

The author of the email, or whomever dictated it to her, missed Civics class that day. The 60 votes gotten last weekend in the Senate were to invoke cloture (end filibuster) and thus move the bill to the floor of the Senate for debate. The right wing no longer has that arrow in their quiver by which to kill the bill.

However, dragging out the bill’s debate and the endless amendments to it until after the Senate’s Christmas break and the start of new year as a means to wear down the energy and interest of the majority (by poll) of Americans who favor such reform; to utilize that break to newly roll out the insane vitriol and polemic (just like that of the email, above) of the astr-turf so called tea party movement at town hall meetings that lawmakers will be holding during the break ; and attempting to capitalize on the mid term elections of 2010 by frightening lawmakers of both chambers of congress up for re-election into a do-nothing tharn are potential threats.

Lastly, the outright lies the right employs are beyond despicable. Lies are the only route for them, unfortunately. If they admitted health care reform will bring competion (isn’t that what the right is all about?) to the market place, they’d surely lose. Heck, ending the exemption health insurance companies enjoy from anti-trust laws will be a huge win toward that (is in the House’s version of the bill, but not the Senate’s).

If they admitted that their vanguard is actually comprised of vested-interest millionaires and billionaires such as Dick Armey, the nearly-indicted health care fraud dude and former CEO of Columbia Hospitals, Rick Scott, and David Koch of Koch Industries, what would Americans think, then?

And if they reported that the Congressional Budget Office says that the Senate health care bill, in its current incarnation, is not only deficit-neutral but will reduce it by $127 billion, what then?

It may be of interest that the revenue guys in DC have made Form 990 much tougher starting tax year 2008 in order to “enhance transparency, promote tax compliance and identify potential
issues” for the agency. This does not obtain with respect to non-profits that are churches, as they are not required to file Form 990. Would that they were.

As above, keep reporting. People do need to know about this stuff.

  29. To those of you who are questioning why Marty is entering into politics on this blog. Instead of criticizing Marty for showing YOU that DM (SP) is violating every single LRH’s policy, it is best if YOU do yourselves & Scientology a favor as an on-line or off-line scientologist and attack the right target (DM, the SP) and ask him why is he violating LRH’s policies and entering politics and demanding more non-exchangeable donations from his parishioners?

For God Sake! attack the right target (DM) and stop his abuses.
Marty is helping you and your on-line Scientologist friends to see DM’s crimes so YOU are not flowing power to the REAL SP and stop being accessory to his crimes.

Hope you are following the purpose of this blog, guys!

Marty, Thank you for everything you are doing. Keep it up! : )

  30. Thought provoking

As several others have stated, the purpose for today’s blog is more about violation of policy rather than asserting one’s own political agenda.

Eldon makes a good point. Once the media takes on the opinion that this is a Scientology driven campaign they will quickly point out the past notable failures regarding Scientology taking care of it’s own staff and public, resulting in more bad PR.

As an aside, my relatives have gone through a series of “anti-Scientology” phases that were a result of my dad’s lack of judgement in allowing heavy regging to hit his non Scientology parent’s
lines. So much so that they specified that his inheritance could not be used for Scientology.

His sister, who was the executer of the estate, got indoctrinated in this viewpoint. Through correct application of tech, I have been able to handle most of the black PR he created and within the last few years she has been able to see the positive side of Scientology which has resulted in her fronting a loan to him to buy his LRH library. She even asked me if it was important to help him (loan money to) so that he could pay off his freeloader debt.

The only thing that still bothers her about Scientology and the SO is that they don’t take care of their staff, medically. My father who ended up in the hospital with a long recovery, was abandoned by the SO…family and friends picked him up and rehabilitated him. This didn’t sit well with the family but even more so was that his wife, a founding SO member and Universe Corps auditor, who was completely loved, didn’t get medical attention (routine surgical proceedure)when she needed it…even as she started losing her sight and had to stop C/Sing. My aunt just can’t understand why the SO won’t take care of it’s most regarded, dedicated workers. And, on this point, she and I agree.

  31. There is something very fishy about this IRS deal with the church. The records are sealed and cannot be subpoenaed and it’s clearly a violation of the first amendment to give one religion a tax break but not another.
What happened behind the closed doors between the IRS and the church? I hope this case makes it to the supreme court. Maybe DM follows whatever party line he is told to follow? We don’t know who’s controlling him or how deep this rabbit hole goes. I find it impossible to believe it’s just David masking this mess. Black Scientology seems like something the powers that be would find enthralling.

Reading up on Jim Jones and what happened in Jonestown and how deeply gov. mind control programmes were in effect really makes me wonder if a similar thing isn’t happening in the church. Surely I am not the only one with this suspicion?

A Jewish couple has been waging a court battle in California, calling it unfair that some people who pay for private, religious education get a tax deduction while others do not. Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute explains the case.

“The couple cited the fact that the Church of Scientology was allowed by the IRS to have the parents putting their children in schools to deduct their tuition, and therefore wanted the same opportunity,” he notes.

The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals stood beside the IRS tax code and ruled against the Jewish parents.

  32. Marty (and Jim Logan)

Thanks for responding to my intial response to your blog.

I can see your points. However I still believe ( and a few others that commented on this thread) this or any other political forum should be kept off this website. I would prefer we keep this website on it’s original course and purpose line. That’s my personal opinion.

  33. Hi Unity and Marty,

You both covered on something very interesting about the Church’s current political agenda.

Allow me to recommend the following book written by Susan Trento called ‘The Power House’:

    http://www.namebase.org/sources/RU.html

Unfortunately the book is out of print but can still be purchased at Amazon and Alibris:

  34. Barry,
You have GOT to be kidding about this! Tell me this isn’t so. PLEASE!!!

  35. Thought Provoking,
You’ve made excellent points, thank you. Please, do NOT pay the ‘freeloader bill’ outright. I’ve written a long, legalese, KR on this subject on Scn Cult which covers the false charging of ‘freeloader’ bills to staff who exchanged.

Write to me personally if you have ANY questions on this and I’ll get you right to the LRH data. DM is violating LRH policy on the subject of ‘freeloader’ bills.

  36. Barney,
Thanks for responding to me too. I don’t mean to clean a clean here, but, the issue brought forth as I see it is not the politics (aside from Marty’s comment that he’s alive and he’s a citizen and he has a viewpoint, education and a right to express his ideas-and it his blog).

Here’s what I see. If you look up on sc-irs-ology’s website you’ll find the trusts LRH crafted with his lawyers. (Skip the conspiracy theory of the editorial staff of the site and stick to the actual docs.) You’ll note that it was a strict condition that IRS Code on non-profits referred to as 501 (c) (google this) be attained by CST and perhaps more importantly RTC as part of the trust. RTC had to attain it or they wouldn’t get to license the marks.

That section of the IRS code has a subsection 3 which limits the activities of a group that has this tax break covered in 501 (c) in terms of ‘influencing legislation’. This is limited as well by section ‘h’ of 501.

Now, it may very well be that what these letters being urged by a 501 (c) exempt org, CCHR, fall within the limits. On the other hand, it may very well be that they don’t and are sufficient to warrant a look into CCHR for violations. If that look extends to the influence or condoning of this by the other entities such as CSI, RTC et al, that DM runs, then they can have this status of 501 (c) compliant group, revoked.

That revocation is exactly opposite to LRH’s express intent and wishes.

It’s not that an entity run on LRH policy is a ‘for profit’ organization. LRH policy in fact clearly establishes Scn entities as ‘not for profit’ IF LRH policy is followed. That’s another rub.

LRH finance policy is violated by DM. Take violation of ‘donos’ policy of 24 Feb 64 “Don’t engage in “fund raising” or “selling postcards” or borrowing money. Just make more income with Scientology. It’s a sign of very poor management to seek extraordinary solutions for finance outside Scientology. It has always failed. For Orgs as for pcs “Solve it With Scientology”. Every time I myself have sought to solve finance or personnel in other ways than Scientology I have lost out. So I can tell you from experience that Org solvency lies in More Scientology, not patented combs or fund raising Barbecues”.

It’s NOT politics that are being pointed up here, it’s the violation of Politics, Freedom From, and the very dicey, dangerous, highly suspect activity of ‘influencing legislation’ in these efforts by CCHR that could reverse the decision won in attaining the valid 501 (c) status in the first place. That was attained in compliance to specific LRH estate planning.

Sorry to be so long winded here, but this needs to be differentiated.

  37. Economist,
Is somebody forcing you to be associated with Marty or the CofS? Just stop reading the blog and stop writing in to it. There. See, just ‘start-change-stop’ of your own li’l fingers typing away on your own li’l keypad. Easy peasy Japaneasy.

  38. This is the only HCOPL quote that mentions bowling:

Dilettante = One who interests himself in an art or science merely as a pastime and without serious study.

In an org, this manifests itself with “people should live a little.” “One needs a rest from
Scientology.” “One should do something else too.” All that kind of jazz.

It also manifests itself in non-consecutive scheduling, part-time students, “because things are different in this town and people can come only two nights”. Ask what they do with other nights. Bowling. Horse-racing.

Boy, you better mark the case folders of staff. You have a Suppressive a board. Maybe
    six.

Scientology, that saves lives, is a modern miracle, is being compared to bowling. Get it?

  39. Jim,

I get you on the correct differences. I completely agree with you LRH Financial Policies being violated. DM is one of the ones R references in “those who change workable Finance systems, will join the walking dead”, in the Finacial Irregularaties HCO PL.

I just personally don’t agree with Health Care bill, it’s 801 pages long, and very confusing. I personally have taken my own responsibility for years and paid for my own health Insurance. As a Canadian I once tried to go up there for a surgery that was a semi emergency and I had to wait 6 months. It’s fine to blog opinions, but to stretch this to “Right Wing” comments, or Visa Versa & similar political issues- I think turns a lot of people off.

I come to this website and other similars, to get away from the daily political media influences, and to find out what is news in Scientology /Miscavagology, not the Health Care Plan. But thanks for your itsa.

  40. Barney,

    My two bits.

It’s not whether the Health Care Bill is good or bad and personally from a libertarian standpoint it is a bad idea, no matter how many posters inveigh against the sins of the Free market and want us all to walk towards the Socialist Utopia of a single payer system run by the Government.

Having written that, just exteriorize yourself from your politically partisan viewpoint and look at the fact that this is not a fight CCHR or its spokesman, Bruce Wiseman should be involved in, for that reason.

Wiseman & Company should be avoiding any political viewpoint per 503 c.3 and should be only be involved in exposing institutional psychiatry’s abuses according to CCHRs directives, not playing politics.

  41. RJ,

Good on your two bit’s. I’m ok with that.

  42. Jim,

No, I’m not making it up about the bowling tournament. Staff members are seeking sponsors for this tournament. All to make payments on a building they can’t really afford. They were already featured in one of DM’s propaganda videos. No horse racing, but there have been several “Casino Nights” to raise money for their building. No, I’m not making this up.

  43. Absolutely, don’t pay any freeloader debt. It’s easy to check out the labor laws in the applicable state about chargebacks for on-the-job training. Just call them up or go see them. That is senior to LRH policy, as LRH would agree.

You might also ask what it would take to get the freeloader debt forgiven. They’ll probably make an offer that amounts to coercion or blackmail.

  44. So we’re under a biological terror attack with H1N1? Oy vey, Jacksmith, I don’t think so. 🙂

  45. Personally, I see nothing wrong with discussing politics here. Seems to me that if this represents a new community, then we should be able to discuss anything we’d like with each other. My only request would be to watch labeling people as “right wing” or “left wing” because they don’t agree with some particular political position that someone considers, from their own point of view, is the only possible sane viewpoint.

  46. Re: the continual bashing of Bruce W. Ask yourselves, What problem is he trying to resolve?

If you accept that the answer’s ‘expansion of the sphere of influence of psychiatry’, his comms make perfect sense. The right wing tags are just added significances.

I am one who sees the infusion of politics on this blog as offpoint. My viewpoint and I take responsibility for it.

  47. Hey, i suggest you guys sue DM. You have a good case and the truth will come out.
