Reformation – Division Within Corporate Scientology

Wonder if the times are really changing? On the first day of 2012 a very prominent self-professed corporate Scientologist in good standing has overtly announced a clear division within the ranks.

Former Captain Flag Service Organization Debbie Cook, who avows to abide by the disconnect policy as administered and adjudicated by David Miscavige, has announced to fellow corporate Scientologists that as far as certain policy violations go, enough is enough.

In a skilled use of the Public Relations series, Debbie characterizes abuses in a euphemistic manner so that corporate Scientologists might read and think about the gaping holes in the side of the corporate Scientology ship.  Note the Monique-Yiglingesque disavowal of the outside world having any role in correcting the beast; for many this letter will be somewhat safe to read.  For the unvarnished truth of what Debbie Cook experienced, please see:

The Final Purges Part I

The Final Purges Part II

The Final Purges Part III

This latest development will have no radical, immediate results.  However, many corporate minds that have been well-steeled against truth will be penetrated and begin to ponder what is really going on.  The letter represents the current well-withheld thoughts of a number of other prominent corporate Scientologists.  Look for some of them to make some noise in early 2012.

This year has begun with a most interesting, if predictable, development.

Prepare to deliver.

Debbie Cook’s email:

Dear Friend,
I am emailing you as a friend and fellow Scientologist. As we enter a new
year, it is hoped that 2012 can be a year of great dissemination and a year
of real progress up The Bridge for all Scientologists.

Although I am not in the Sea Org right now, I served in the Sea Org at Flag
for 29 years. 17 of those years were as Captain FSO. I am a trained auditor
and C/S as well as an OEC, FEBC and DSEC.

I am completely dedicated to the technology of Dianetics and Scientology and
the works of LRH. I have seen some of the most stunning and miraculous
results in the application of LRH technology and I absolutely know it is
worth fighting to keep it pure and unadulterated.

My husband and I are in good standing and we are not connected with anyone
who is not in good standing. We have steadfastly refused to speak to any
media, even though many have contacted us.

But I do have some very serious concerns about out-KSW that I see permeating
the Scientology religion.

I have the utmost respect for the thousands of dedicated Scientologists and
Sea Org members. Together, we have come through everything this world could
throw at us and have some real impingement on the world around us. I am
proud of our accomplishments and I know you are too.
However there is no question that this new age of continuous fundraising is
not our finest moment.

LRH says in HCO PL 9 Jan 51, An Essay on Management,
“drop no curtains between the organization and the public about anything.”
-LRH

Based on this policy I am communicating to you about some situations that we
need to do something about within our religion, within our group.

Actions that are either not covered in policy or directly violate LRH policy
and tech include the extreme over-regging and fund-raising activities that
have become so much a part of nearly every Sea Org org and Class V org as
well as every “OT Committee”. This fundraising is not covered anywhere in
LRH policy.

Hardworking Sea Org members and the dedicated staff of orgs around the world
aren’t choosing to do these actions. Nor are the OTs. I am sure they would
be more than happy if they could just get on with direct dissemination of
Scientology as they have done for so many years.

But the truth is that this is being driven from the very highest echelons
within the Scientology structure and clearly there is a lot of pressure to
make targets that are being set.

The IAS: The IAS was created unbeknownst to LRH in 1984 by Marc Yager and
David Miscavige. This was supposed to be based on LRH policies on the
subject of membership and the HASI, however the IAS is nothing like the
membership system described by LRH which only has two memberships and is
covered in HCO PL 22 March 1965 “Current Promotion and Org Program Summary,
Membership Rundown” and states:

“There are two memberships…”- LRH

LRH lists there the INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP and gives its cost at 10
pounds sterling or $30 US. He also lists a LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP which is
priced at $75 US. There are no other memberships or statuses approved or
known to LRH.

Furthermore, membership monies are supposed to go directly to the org where
the membership is signed up, and the money used for dissemination by that
org, in that area. This is covered in HCOPL 1 Sept 1965R Membership
Policies.

“It all goes into the HCO Book Account in the area where the membership is
brought and is not part of the organization’s weekly gross income.
Membership monies go to dissemination”.- LRH

Currently membership monies are held as Int reserves and have grown to well
in excess of a billion dollars. Only a tiny fraction has ever been spent, in
violation of the policy above. Only the interest earned from the holdings
have been used very sparingly to fund projects through grants. In fact many
of the activities you see at IAS events are not actually funded by the IAS,
but rather by the Scientologists involved.

Think about it, how many ads disseminating Scientology, Dianetics or any Scn
affiliated programs have you seen on TV? Heard on the radio? Seen in
newspapers? I haven’t seen one in the 4 years I have lived in San Antonio,
Texas, the 7th largest city in the US. How many have you seen?

Donating anything more than a lifetime membership to the IAS is not based on
LRH policy. The article “What Your Donations Buy” (The Auditor, The Monthly
Journal of Scientology No. 51, 1970) is clearly talking about how the church
uses your donations for Dianetics and Scientology services. Next time you
are asked to donate outside of services, realize that you are engaged in
fundraising and ask to see something in writing from L. Ron Hubbard that
this is something he expects from you as a Scientologist.

New Org Buildings: LRH also never directed the purchase of opulent buildings
or the posh renovations or furnishings for every org.

In fact, if you read HCO PL 12 March 75 Issue II, “The Ideal Org”, which is
what this program has been called, and nowhere in it will you find 20
million dollar buildings or even any reference to the poshness of org
premises at all as part of LRH’s description of an “Ideal Org”. Instead, an
Ideal Org was one that delivered and moved people up The Bridge – something
that is not part of this “Ideal Org” program.

LRH says in the PL that an Ideal Org:

“would be clean and attractive enough not to repel its public” – LRH.

This is all it says about the state of the building.

As a result of this off-policy alteration of the Ideal Org PL, we have the
majority of top OTs, now deemed “OT Ambassadors”, heavily engaged in
fund-raising activities that include “bingo”, “pirate dinners”, “knitting
classes”, “hay rides”, and many other activities strictly revolving around
raising funds for the required multi-millions of dollars to fund their
“Ideal Org”. As part of this, people around every org are now asked to
donate to their local “Ideal Org” instead of their own services or their own
Bridge.

LRH says in HCO PL Org Ethics and Tech:

“GET RID OF DISTRACTIONS FROM SCIENTOLOGY in your org. Baby-sitting or
raffle tickets and such nonsense.”-LRH

Yet these distractions are rampant as they are being used as fund-raisers to
get money for the huge quotas being issued to fund the “Ideal Org”.

“If the org slumps… don’t engage in ‘fund-raising’ or ‘selling postcards’
or borrowing money. Just make more income with Scientology.
It’s a sign of very poor management to seek extraordinary solutions for
finance outside Scientology. It has always failed.”

“For orgs as for pcs, ‘Solve It With Scientology’.

“Every time I myself have sought to solve financial or personnel in other
ways than Scientology I have lost out. So I can tell you from experience
that org solvency lies in more Scientology, not patented combs or
fund-raising barbeques.”

HCO PL 24 February 1964, Issue II, Org Programming, (OEC Vol. 7, p. 930)

The point is that Scientologists and OT’s need to be training, auditing and
disseminating to raw public- not regging each other or holding internal
fundraisers.

Out Tech: Over the last few years we have seen literally hundreds and
hundreds of people who were validated as clear using the CCRD as developed
by LRH now being told they are not Clear. This included hundreds of OTs who
were then put onto NED as a “handling”. LRH clearly forbid any Dianetics to
be run on OTs in HCOB “Dianetics Forbidden on OTs”. This is out tech. This
entire technical “handling” was directed personally by COB RTC and was done
on thousands of OTs. But it was based not on an LRH HCO Bulletin, but rather
based on a single C/S instruction where LRH C/Sed one pre-OT who had not
achieved the state of clear but was mid OT III and not making it. LRH
directed a solo handling that the pre-OT was to do to get himself to achieve
the state of Clear. This LRH C/S taken out of context was then used to
implement a technical handling that was in direct violation of an LRH HCOB.

This and other “technical handlings” done on Solo NOTs auditors created
great expense and hardship on Solo NOTs auditors around the world as they
were made to do these handlings to continue on the level.

Then there are the “fast grades at Flag” that no other org has. How can it
be that Flag has been delivering grades differently to the rest of the world
for the last 3 years? Whatever the problem is, the fact is that having “fast
Grades” at Flag creates a hidden data line and is a HIGH CRIME and the
subject of an entire policy letter called HCOPL “TECH DEGRADES” which LRH
has placed at the start of every Scientology course.

More recently the fad seems to be that nearly everyone needs to “re-do their
Purif and do a long objectives program”, including many OTs mid Solo NOTs.

There is nothing wrong with doing objectives, but it is a clear violation of
HCOB ‘MIXING RUNDOWNS AND REPAIRS” to have a person mid a rundown or OT
level be taken off it and placed on an objectives program.

Solo NOTs auditors are also being made to get their objectives from a Class
IX auditor at great expense as they are not being allowed to co-audit.

Flag has made many millions of dollars on the above listed out tech
handlings because OTs mid Solo NOTs are forced to get these out-tech actions
to be able to get back onto and stay on the level and complete it. Not to
mention the spiritual effects of the out tech that this has on each OT.

I myself was subject to these out tech “handlings”, including extensive FPRD
mid Solo NOTs. It took its toll in many ways, including physical situations
I am still dealing with today. So I have some reality of the hardship
caused.

LRH Command Structure: LRH left us with a complex and balanced command
structure, with our orgs led by the Office of ED International. This office
was considered so important that LRH created a special management group
called the Watch Dog Committee whose only purpose was to see that this
office and the other needed layers of management existed. LRH ED 339R speaks
of this extensively as the protection for our Church. But these people are
missing. And not just some. As of just a few years ago there were no members
of the office of ED Int on post, not to mention top execs throughout the
International Management structure.

You may have also wondered… where is Heber, the President of the Church?
What about Ray Mitthoff, Senior C/S International, the one that LRH
personally turned over the upper OT Levels to? How about Norman Starkey,
LRH’s Trustee? What happened to Guillaume – Executive Director
International? And Marc Yeager, the WDC Chairman? What happened to the other
International Management executives that you have seen at events over the
years?

The truth is that I spent weeks working in the empty International
Management building at Int. Empty because everyone had been removed from
post. When I first went up lines I was briefed extensively by David
Miscavige about how bad all of them were and how they had done many things
that were all very discreditable. This seemed to “explain” the fact that the
entirety of the Watchdog Committee no longer existed. The entirety of the
Executive Strata, which consisted of ED International and 11 other top
International executives that were the top executives in their particular
fields, no longer existed. That the Commodore’s Messenger Org International
no longer existed. All of these key command structures of Scientology
International, put there by LRH, had been removed.

There were hundreds and hundreds of unanswered letters and requests for help
from org staff, written based on LRH ED 339R where LRH says that staff can
write to these top executives in the Exec Strata for help. But this is not
possible if all these execs have been removed and no one is there to help
them or to get evaluations and programming done to expand Scientology.

Well, after that I got to spend some quality time with Heber, Ray Mithoff,
Norman Starkey, Guillaume, as well as the entirety of International
Management at the time, who were all off post and doing very long and harsh
ethics programs. These have gone on for years and to the only result of that
they are still off post. There is no denying that these top executives have
all gradually disappeared from the scene. You don’t see them at the big
events anymore or on the ship at Maiden Voyage.

David Miscavige has now become the “leader” of the Scientology religion. Yet
what LRH left behind was a huge structure to properly manage all aspects of
the Scientology religion. He put a complete and brilliant organizational
structure there, not one individual. There never was supposed to be a
“leader” other than LRH himself as the goal maker for our group.

There is a situation here and even if you have not been to the International
Management Base you should be able to see that over regging and frequent
tech changes are not OK and you have a responsibility to do something to
Keep Scientology Working. You should be able to find and read the
references on membership in OEC Volume 6. Find and read the HCO PL entitled
“The Ideal Org” (Data Series 40). Find and read the references on org
buildings, including HCO PL 24 Aug 65 II, Cleanliness of Quarters and Staff,
Improve our Image. Also, HCO PL 17 June 69, The Org Image.

If you don’t want to make waves or put yourself in danger of being taken off
the level or denied eligibility, then there are some simple things you can
do. First and foremost, withdraw your support from off policy actions. Stop
donating to anything other than your own services and actual Bridge
progress. Simply demand to see an LRH reference that says you are required
to make other such donations. No one will be able to produce any references
because there aren’t any.

Stop supporting any of the activities that are being done to forward
off-policy fund-raising in your area.

LRH says what he expects of a Scientologist – that is what he expects you to
do. In fact he put it in HCOB 10 June 1960 Issue I, Keeping Scientology
Working Series 33, WHAT WE EXPECT OF A SCIENTOLOGIST. Read it and follow it.

The other thing you can do is to send this email to as many others as you
can, even if you do it anonymously.

Please keep this email among us, the Scientologists. The media have no place
in this. You may wonder why I have not written a KR and gone about my
business. The answer is, I have. But there is no longer anyone to send that
KR to.

But you can and should write reports and bring off-policy to the attention
of local org executives and local Sea org members.

We are a strong and powerful group and we can affect a change. We have
weathered many storms. I am sorry that I am the one telling you, but a new
storm is upon us. It’s waves are already in the media and the world around
us.

The truth is that as a Scientologist you are more able, more perceptive and
have a higher integrity. Scientology is supposed to allow you to “think for
yourself” and never compromise your own integrity. And most certainly LRH
held every Scientologist responsible to KEEP SCIENTOLOGY WORKING.

I am not trying to do anything other than affect a change in serious off
policy actions occurring. My husband and I have most of our family and many
many good friends who are Scientologists. I have not been real interested in
sticking my neck out like this.

However, I also know that I dedicated my entire adult life to supporting LRH
and the application of LRH technology and if I ever had to look LRH in the
eye I wouldn’t be able to say I did everything I could to Keep Scientology
Working if I didn’t do something about it now.

We all have a stake in this. It is simply not possible to read the LRH
references and not see the alterations and violations that are currently
occurring.

You have a very simple obligation to LRH. Don’t participate in anything off
policy, and let others know they should not either. If every person who
reads this email does nothing more than step back from off-policy actions we
would have changed direction. If we took all that energy and directed it
into auditing, training and raw public dissemination, we would be winning.

And that is what I wish for you and all of us as we ring in this new year.

ARC,

Debbie Cook

  1. Awesome job!
The HCOPL quotes she cites are accurate. Its a bit like
    a letter from LRH.

    • She’s getting pummeled on her FaceBook.. I can’t imagine she didn’t know the sh!tstorm that would come with that move though. Most people will end up deleting her just because they don’t wanna lose their families no matter how much they disagree.

She has been deleting many comments throughout the day today.

      Example:
“Sherry Van Hootegem – How dare you use your authority thinking you can still communicate from the hat which you no longer own or get the power from. The fact you even use your training and such only makes your look more compromised. Shame on you…”

I guess if she wrote it honestly and from the heart over a bottle or two of wine, she can always get another pay day to claim she was hacked by one of the bad people if she has to to save face. It’s easy to spoof a from address.

Hopefully though, it’s been well thought out and she has some kind of a plan. Not sure she is as well prepared for battle as Marty and Mike were/are.

      • Debbie Cook is an OEC/FEBC, a proven and very competent executive and evaluator. Make no mistake, this was very carefully planned and she hopefully has a very competent counter-part, as Marty and Mike are a team, with Mosey and Christie; as well as Steve Hall and JB. I sincerely hope she has assembled such a team. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to manage the campaign, no matter how well she may plan the game.

  2. I have had respect for Debbie ever since she was a Cramming Officer at the FSO many years ago. That she had to leave the S.O. due to a physical condition that, per her email, she is still dealing with indicates that she recognizes her continuing PTSness and irresponsibility in dealing with the lunatic who was responsible for her abuses in her last years as Captain FSO and her mistreatment while a prisoner at Int. She is coming to cause over her situation and I expect that her email will actually have significant impact. Aside from Heber and DM, Debbie was arguably the best known Scientologist in the world. I received her email from a friend this morning who received it from a friend, so I would not be surprised if it has made its way into the inboxes of many people in the early hours of 2012. It is a nice beginning to the new year. Thanks for speaking out, Debbie and best of luck to you.

    • My feelings too. I have always liked Debbie Cook, she was one of the genuinely frendliest Scientologists I ever encountered. But won’t this E-Mail now that it is publicly posted wind up taking her out of good standing with the church? Won’t she be declared for this? :) Happy New Year by the way DK.

    • I believe Debbie’s email is a gamer changer and perhaps the tipping point. There is no person I can think of who is more popular and well known by the public, especially long term members, than Debbie. Not to mention all the FSO & FLB staff who hold her in high regard.

      • Isn’t that true? I just always liked her. Of course, there are people that are critical of other people, that have criticisms of Debbie Cook, but I always liked her, so there is a future there for hope for change. I always thought she was a nice lady. It is something that is kind of hard to fake. I once considered dressing up a neighbors very large fat English bulldog named Georgia in a pretty dress and taking her to go and see “Aunt Debbie” so she could see how pretty Georgia looked for the holiday. Something came up and I never did, but it is the thought that counts. Debbie would have been so happy to see Georgia in her Easter dress. :)

    • I received Debbie Cook’s email directly at the email address that I used to use when I was in the church (not the email address that I’ve used or made publicly known as an Independent Scientologist). So it appears that she sent her email to “online Scientologists” and not to those that have announced their independence. Very very interesting start to 2012. This email should definitely create some waves.

(Marty, good catch on her continued apparent support of “disconnection”. I had noticed her euphemistic “harsh ethics conditions” to describe Miscavige’s torture chamber and her unwillingness to use the media to affect change, but I hadn’t thought about her tacit support of “disconnection”. Good eye.)

    • She wrote that she isn’t in contact with anyone in bad standing with the Church. Most here are in bad standing, so what is she saying?

  3. Well, looks like SOMEONE’S been reading this blog!!

    • For sure!
Debbie, I’m so very happy to see this letter from you. It’s extremely powerful! Please continue to TR3 the cycle to get all OL’s on board. The moment TC asks his $$$$ back I’m going to kiss you! Until that time enjoy your SP declare; it’s your bagde of honour and ticket to sanity!

  4. Hmmmmm. Very interesting. OK, she gets points for this comm and the truth it presents. She sucked at the teat of Miscavige and fully supported every single thing he did, never spoke up or stood up with any courage while all this was happening for DECADES, but better late than never. (and she raked in the cash baby, raked it in)

But there HAS to be something else going on here methinks. Why now all of a sudden? Just a VERY wild guess here. I would not be suprised at all if some folks in the COS put her up to this and, as we speak, the cycle of action to remove Miscavige has begun. Some high rolling public can even be on it too. Davey may not be at the next event.

    • Joe, there could be some truth to what you are suspecting. Better now than never!

    • Yes Joe, very interesting, I like your observation. For me, I’ve always been contemptuous of the back up Miscavige always seemed to get from the elite within the SO ranks. I got very tired early on of having to think of myself as a lower classed worker whose observations and understanding were non conformist. I am talking about my staff environemnt mid 80s to mid nineties, after that it all went to crap anyway.
Maybe this is a good tactic of Debbies but this war from that perspective doesn’t seem to side all that well for truth as the main objective, perhaps it’s a gradient approach to develop cracks in the otherwise inpenertarble wall of concrete RCS has built around itself. I feel a great deal of “eliteism” has always been present within the fabric of administrative Scientology.
For the first time I’m begining to relax with Marty’s site. His opening address to this article has a frankness about it which is as good as an example of honesty as I’ve seen dealing with the major departure from the objectives of Scientology – Miscavigeism.
The real casualty in this fight I believe are the scores of auditors and other trained people whose dedication to the truth was shattered and they no longer accept Scientology as an answer for anything except that it’s a scam. Down the track they will become the most resilient of adversaries.
More communication not less is the answer I suppose but 2012 is sure shaping up to be cracker.

      • Sherb, you are saying that you started to relax with Marty’s site for the first time after he published this email from Debbie Cook, a shortened and washed out version of the 31 Factors published by Marty over a year ago. I see some people ranting on the Facebook against Marty and his blog. I could never understand this attitude but now I think I do. I would like to start 2012 with this thought. Since Marty, Mike Rinder, Steve Hall, Debbie and indeed EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US helped DM create the current situation–some of us helped more than others–we, first of all, all have overts in that regard and our communication could be viewed as inadequate to uncover and relay the purest truth. However, at this time and place we are not looking for the purest ultimate truth. We are looking for the greatest good to the greatest number of dynamics which, as we all must believe if we read Marty’s blog, consists of (A) exposing DM and blowing him and his racket sky high and (B) separating the tech and philosophy of Scientology from the criminal Church organization. A much welcome side effect of that struggle, led by Marty, Mike and Steve, is the creation of a safe environment for people to practice Scientology in the independent field. That is what Marty has been doing very well, achieving great results and with visible stats to look at. For that I am eternally grateful to Marty, Mike and Steve and the rest of us who contributed in any way. Everything else is irrelevant.

        • Hi Micheal.
Please don’t get wrong. I don’t hold grudges nor adopt humanoid knee jerks – I respect Marty, Mike, Steve and anyone that that has the guts to follow theta instincts. They have my support.
It’s been a long and agonising road and there’s bound to be a great amount of BPC, I still audit but I’ve always have and always will, audit the PC in front of me.
For years I sucked it up as what I was led to believe was the greatest good for the greatest amount. I too lost of all my money, my friends and was chastised for putting LRH first. Even ESMB all but drove me away with a big stick.
I long for a group reality along the lines where all this covert ‘need to know basis’ crap is old hat. Repair of past ethics is a great tool but it’s usless if you don’t have a better game to play. I’m well aware of my role in the game and the overts I have committed/contributed to but I drew the line at the GAT – how out tech and gross was that, from that time I have trusted no one connected to the Church. I’m no saint nor pretend to be but I know which is the right end of a hammer.
I’m cautious in my old age, but I’m around for the long haul.
Forgive me but my environment is not safe unless I make it so – I’ve had to be independant to give myself any guarentee of that. I don’t see my actions nor viewpoint as irrevalent.
My cooperation along certain lines is all I offer, not faith.

          • Sherb, you said: “Even ESMB all but drove me away with a big stick.” You are SO not the only one that happened to! But it was part of the catalyst helping to break the old bonds, until one realized they’d graduated from the furor on ESMB and found the direction they would really take, which includes the freezone and so forth. Some are still stuck in the furor on ESMB, have been for years, will be for years to come…

            • Yes, it’s a process. Glad to see you came out the other side.
It’s a little tough knowing so many good friends and competent people in there with negative goals in complete domination.
A thetan has the remarkable ability to burn the candle at both ends and then wonders why in the hell it’s getting so hot.

          • Hey Sherb, very well done for drawing the line at GAT. Most of us did not have enough clarity and certainty on Scientology and LRH to really confront what was happening. I, for one, was a super-active participant and even an executive over some aspects of the huge GAT translations and publications evolution. So very well done for that.

I think it would be a great idea to cleaned up in session on our past overts of supporting DM. I am absolutely not singling you out on that, not in the least and quite to the contrary. But some sec check or prep check on that would probably go a long way toward complete transparency.

            • Yeah, I really hear you Michael. Yes a session in that vein would be helpful indeed.
I would like to say something on my refusal to abide by the GAT.
Before the GAT I was an active sup in a CL4 Org. Tiwanese students were flooding in, co audits were doing well and increasing, all was going pretty good. Then that stupid Miscavige Global Instruct on the can squeeze (because somebody gave him a bad can squeeze) Nothing wrong in my academy with can squeezes but the execs went ballistic. Suddenly I was the bad guy for allowing such gross out tech. All attention went onto getting a done on this most vital of catastrophes. It took weeks to get a done on eveyone getting a cram (no qual) done in the academy.
Then the new Drug Rdn co audit checksheets. The sups had to audit the recall section. I had very little time to eat nor work to pay the rent. As the PCs were foregin language my time just disappeared. But the gross out tech was there was a read it drill it section on the meter so the students could do the 4 Flows on each other. There was no reference on false or protest reads on the checksheet. It was one of the most squirrel bits of crap I’ve ever seen. I complained and wrote up lines (no reply of course) but the Org execs treated me like some enemy line – it was a nightmare.
I was already well and truly primed with, “just who the f..k is this Miscavige guy.” Just about then the order/program came down lines to insist everyone, public and all get introduced to the benifets of O/W write ups. The ED personally guided me through the steps and enforced compliance. Even the co-audits were forced to listen to my lecture on the benefits of doing O/W write ups. That’s the last overt I committed on staff except walking out the door with a middle finger salute after all the fun it was to route off staff and pay for my own leaving staff sec check at Flag. I couldn’t stomach the out tech at Flag and the endless sec checks for long and faded out of sight.
The GAT to me was something to be avoided, but the tech was already well and truly on the way to being corrupted by then anyway.
Sorry to rave on but geeze… what a rock show!

            • Upon reflection Michael, I would like to know. Are you auditor trained?
Have you ever taken a raw PC through the basics,ie Scn or Dns C/S 1, then done the first rudiments etc. Or perhaps a PTS C/S 1 on someone fresh off the street? Maybe corrected an out list on an enraged public from a botched up Ethics interview in HCO?
I ask this because Exec advise to case actions because of a 3rd Dyn circumstance is a bane of case gain. A persons case handling is between a LRH, a competent C/S and an auditor.
I got into a lot of heated face to face dramas with a number of execs over the years who insisted by their actions they knew the tech better than the C/S.
It’s coming back to me now just how hard it was/became to keep the tech standard in the Org, stat pushes and know best made live misserable.
So many good sups were squashed out of their posts in a Miscavige valenced Org.

              • I agree, Sherb. That is what I observed at the Int Base as well. Auditing became a 3D activity with rampant executive C/Sing. That and the dangerous environment prevented case gain for staff. That is why auditing is so much more effective here goes so much faster. I am not a trained auditor except Book One that I audited upward of 2000 hours before Sea Org and during my pioneer days in the SO as a dissem tool. I am also a Read it, Drill it, Do it RPF co-auditing auditor with some auditing experience but not a whole lot.

                • Yes, the biggest betrayal of all is when it comes from a C/S. The comm line between C/S auditor PC is truly the most sacred of all Scientologys regimens.
It took me over 20 years to finally spot my reasonableness concerning execs. I’ve always been a techie and have never had aspirations to specialise in admin per se, although I do see it’s operational necessity to survive in a manner where one can “get on and succeed” with the rest of the Dynamics. I do find the Data Series mind blowing.
All I’ve ever been hatted for in Scientology is to make auditors, a sup needs to be an accomplished auditor per the Sup’s Code so I did my CL4 internship just after my sups’. I’m into CL6 data now and am so glad I know what auditing is from the both sides of the meter. I cannot stress enough what LRH says, you’re not going to make it to OT if you can’t audit. I observed a whole culture was created within the Church which lost sight of that some time ago.
Season’s greeting and I hope 2012 is productive for you.

        • Michael, ditto ditto ditto me!!!!!

    • Yes, I have heard that there are some highly trained ex-SO that are fed up with Mr. David Miscavige, and that some action is being taken.

Perhaps this is the first salvo. If this letter is legit, then perhaps a “white mutiny” is underway.

It will take a lot more than a white mutiny to bring down Miscavige. But this is a start. Any idea that this can be a “bloodless coup” is delusional thinking (I mean “bloodless coup” in a metaphorical sense). Mr. David Miscavige will not go down easy – he’ll be grabbing his copper rod and shouting “Say hello to my little friend!”

    • This part had punch for me

Debbie Cook wrote:The extreme over-regging and fund-raising activities that have become so much a part of nearly every Sea Org org and Class V org as well as every “OT Committee” is not covered anywhere in LRH policy.

Hardworking Sea Org members and the dedicated staff of orgs around the world aren’t choosing to do these actions. Nor are the OTs. I am sure they would be more than happy if they could just get on with direct dissemination of Scientology as they have done for so many years.

But the truth is that this is being driven from the very highest echelons within the Scientology structure and clearly there is a lot of pressure to make targets that are being set.

Nothing is dearer to the heart of Miscavology than predatory regging and sucking out the $$$$$$. I recall in 2010 before I left an order came down “STRAIGHT FROM COB”. Straight from COB is defined as drop whatever you are doing, go off-hat, do not think about sleeping that night, cross divisions of the Org structure, lie to the public, commit anything in violation of any written policy but GET the PRODUCT.

In early 2010 an order came Straight from COB That Los Angeles was to have $10 million raised for IAS in 7 days. It was THE priority. REGGES descended like vultures as you parked your car before you stepped in the Org, it was extortion with THUGGERY the likes I have never seen. The target was met.
COB’s genius acquired another $10 million in 7 days ! Later it was scoffed at as Flag Land Base had gotten $40 million in 7 days (COB order) and Los Angeles was a mere 1/4 of that.

    • Mr Pendleton, your PR attack on Debbie Cook is entirely uncalled for and just plain wrong.

Evidently you couldn’t be bothered to study The Final Purges series which Marty linked in the OP.

Debbie Cook was subjected to outright torture in The Hole for not going along with Darth Midget.

  5. Yes, I awoke this morning to find Debbie’s email in my Gmail in-box. While it makes some great points, vested in policy, and I’m glad she made the move, the term “candy coated” comes to mind. It is rather like pointing out to the passengers on a ship how the rudder no longer works and the water storage tank is leaking, the captain isn’t running the ship right and officers are awol, but it can be fixed by those on board so sending up distress flares to the outside world is not the thing to do, all the while failing to mention that the ship is going down fast and the substance all around them, the thing the passengers are immersed in, is water.

    • Even I forget to mention how, with a madman at the helm and rudderless, the sinking ship has been ploughing through and over countless other ships, destroying people and lives for years and how those on shore think it toxic.

      • Agreed Haydn, it is candy coated.

But I think I see the advantage of it being so. Her target audience are people still in the fold. If she were to be too vehement it would generate too much rejection. Some people would not read more than a small part of her email without blowing off of it. Confronting the truth has to be done gradiently in some cases.

When I left, I emailed my story back into the church too, and I was careful to not be too raw in hopes they would listen.

As Marty points out in his intro, many corporate minds that have been well steeled against the truth will be penetrated.

Her email is planting seeds and nourishing existing seeds. It reaches people that are not up to looking at more solid truths like what is covered on places like Marty’s blog.

It’s probably a confront process for Debbie too. Count time until she starts posting here some day.

        • That’s an excellent point, JB. Thanks for that balanced view.

        • JB. Agreed there is an advantage to Debbie sugar coating it. There is no better way to get start getting the truth confronted by Corporate Scientologists than to do it on a gradient and at a reality level they might be able to actually have. This could be quite successful at penetrating corporate Scientologists’ armor as imposed on them by command of the DM regime.

      • Haydn +1
        Fabulous analogies

    • Spot on Haydn.

I might describe ” the substance all around them, the thing the passengers are immersed in, is water” as ‘dilute bovine faecal matter’, but you raise some very valid points. It IS rather candy coated but then we have to look at who the target audience is.

Most of those who are able to think rationally and were prepared to really look at what has been happening within Corporate Scientology had already cognited and left. The ones left are those who blindly follow without question. They have to be treated with kid gloves just to get them to even listen.

I think that Debbie has done exactly the right thing with this email.

      Ax

    • I believe Debbie’s “candy coated” account of the situation is the perfect choice for a way to introduced this HUGE emergency as it is not so out-gradient that the Kool-aide drinkers would reject it because they couldn’t confront the enormity of it. It is the correct tone level, the correct amount of info and a perfect blow. It is the correct gradient for people to be willing to read it because it will still be “real” to the sheeple. I think she did it brilliantly for that reason. Anything more forceful or alarming would have crossed over into out reality.
Also, btw, I received her email directly on my regular email account so she IS sending it to everyone-good standing or not. I think her move is very significant.

      • I agree Joy. It may seem ‘candy-coated’ to those who have been out and Independent for sometime now but we must not forget working on a gradient.

In terms of addressing those who are still ‘inside’ DM’s ‘Truman Show’, it seems like some powerful hammer blows against DM’s existing facade.

I have no doubt it is seen by DM as totally ‘enemy line’ and Debbie is in for it now. As The Bob(Dylan) put it, “The line it is drawn, the curse it is cast.” DM and OSA must try to find away to ‘handle’ her. What will they do?

I cannot see it as ‘candy-coated’ in truth. What was she supposed to do? Come out waving a pitchfork and screeching “Hang the out-LRH anti-LRH sumbitch!”?

It is diplomatic but steely and throws the gauntlet right down in front of DM and without name-calling yet impeaches him completely.

I read it as a powerful and courageous move on her part and as others pointed out, it indicates the possibility she has support inside and this is the vanguard move towards putting DM’s head on a pike.

The ancient Shamans of Manchuria are pleased and look forward to receiving the head for use as the ‘weenie’(puck) in their annual horseback ‘polo’ games. Debbie is invited to come to those games as guest of honor.

    • A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down.

  6. I’ll just add that this is kinda classic “prepping the public” for when the hammer comes down on Miscavige; that there will be some agreed upon stuff so when the event takes place and this is all announced, the folks will nod their head vigorously, laugh out loud and “blow down” and all will be polka dots and moonbeams again (or is lollipops and roses?). Get ready. Looks like an amnesty is coming.

    • Looks like an amnesty is coming.
Just the thought gags me. Who in their right mind would accept an amnesty from a psychotic sociopath?
I disconnected from RCS well over a decade ago. I did it. They could offer an amnesty with money attached and I still wouldn’t take it. No sir. The dwarf and those altering the tech are the ones who need to ask us, and anyone harmed in any way, for forgiveness; not the other way around.

      • Yes indeed, that is the correct flow.

      • I think Joe was referring to an amnesty from a new leadership. Correct me if I’m wrong Joe.

In any event, it’ll take a lot for me to be trusting of any new leadership for a future Scientology ever again. It could, but the level of transparency, willingness to accept responsibility for past actions, and honestly integrate with society’s ethical mores (and adapt policy as needed) would have to be present in spades for me to consider it.

        • Agreed, Margaret. IMHO, with this email Debbie Cook made the best use of her unique position to reach people who couldn’t confront Marty’s blog with a gun held to their head. However, if this leads to new management taking over the RCS, we should keep in mind that the organization is coming from a condition of Treason. We can’t (or at least shouldn’t) trust that new management until the organization has come up the conditions through Danger, including adopting firm policy to prevent the situation from ever occurring again. And that includes the warning from LRH about a monopoly on the tech not being safe for mankind.

      • Amnesty ?

Oh wow. A corrupt and crooked organization who has blood-let every last dime from parishioners to the point of pain and suffering, an entity that uses threats, bullying, thuggery, intimidation, donkey like Squirrel busters for intimidation and retaliation, creates hate and malicious tabloid web sites, locks up key execs in SP Hole for seances and gang bang beatings and “ethics” has the Moral Authority to grant text AMNESTY ? ??

      • Looks like an amnesty is coming.

There is not a single thing the Church could do to have me walk through any of it’s front doors ever again. I like the Services in the Freezone … no harassment regings, no “Get-you-to’s”, no Stat Pressures, no covertly condescending brown-nose OT Ambassadors manipulated by a top-down religious militia, nor any and all remaining bullshit not mentioned here.

Freezone = Relief from the Hostilities of Corporate Scientology Life.

        • I’m with you on that one. RCS can never again be trusted as a place of Standard Tech or sanity. Even if the dwarf is dethroned.

  7. Wonderfully well crafted email. I hope many send it to as many as possible.

    I know I will.

    Windhorse

    • several of us stayed up past 2:30am forwarding this email to our contacts lists…it’s huge, no matter how you look at it, this email from Debbie is HUGE! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wondered why in hell she wasn’t speaking out, did she REALLY accept a STFU payoff?, was I SOOOooooo wrong about her TOOOO!!!!, does she NOT care about KSW? and then I got this email from her…Illness that requires constant care and research to handle as no medical handlings actually exist can take it’s toll on a person mentally and spiritually. We all rejoiced when we read her email last night. She’s on the road to freedom after all!!! and to better health no doubt!!

    • Ditto. This is huge. This is in fact a massive torpedo straight into the side of POB’s rapidly sinking ship. It will be forwarded to everyone I know without delay. Well done Debbie – the road is long and tiring back up the rabbit hole but you should be very proud of yourself today. I just hope there are enough true friends around you to shore up against the inevitable DM backlash.

    • I sent it out to over 500 existing church members and received acknowledgements from many that they are also sending it out to their comm lines.

    • The EP of the so-called “Church of Scientology” is that you finally put on your Boots in the Sky and graduate to an Independent Scientologist.

      Michael A. Hobson
      Independent Scientologist

  8. She’s clearly differentiating the kinds of Scientologists:
    - the e-mail goes to “active” Scientologist
    - she’s a scientologist in “good standing”…yet
    - she’s a scientologist that will not talk to the media, contrary to scientologists in bad standing that talk to the media etc….
I’ve the feeling that she’s not alone and they want to reform the church and put the whole management back in place. But what then ?
It’s a first step and you Marty and Mike prepared the road for her. She (they) are moving up a little higher but the main question is:
” is she (are they) radical or not ? Is she willing to accept different viewpoints or will she stick verbatim to LRH ?
    What a great start for 2012 !

    • She’s clearly differentiating the kinds of Scientologists:
      - the e-mail goes to “active” Scientologist
      - she’s a scientologist in “good standing”…yet
      - she’s a scientologist that will not talk to the media, contrary to scientologists in bad standing that talk to the media etc….

The Tampa Bay Times correctly assessed it as follows:

Cook’s status in Scientology is sure to change. Typically the church views open criticism as a “suppressive” act and moves to banish violators from church activities while quickly cutting their business and personal ties with practicing members.

Debbie may well be one of the few who have made an internal public Issue out of it, but tens of thousands of Scientologists have written Knowledge Reports which uniformly have fallen on deaf ears.

DM will pocket-pluck whatever he can get away with, mowing down any counter-intention as it rears it’s head.

There is no one at War against Scientology, but DM waging a War against his own membership under the pretense that there is.

  9. Wow!! 2012 is gonna ROCK!

  10. Debbie, that is some letter. Good, good, good!! Surely you know that while you may have been in good standing, that just changed with your letter. But look at it this way, who would even want to be in “good standing” with DM’s squirrel group. Not me.

Marty, I think it will have immediate results. At the very least, the dwarf will be in an absolute spin, running for his copper rods.

note to OSA, the dwarf, Monique Yearling etc. etc.: I still want my IAS money back; ALL OF IT.

  11. Truly sad, IMHO, that Debbie Cook – who was never my favorite person when I was IN the SO and not when I was out – now takes this step, for WHATEVER reason, and she is “made less than” by some.

To me THIS is clearly what makes scientology so potentially dangerous — it CONTINUES to divide people — good independents VS bad independents, long-term independents VS just-got-out independents, and the list is endless.

UNLESS, you can step over yourself to SEE that she is just another human being trying to make sense of life and trying to be helpful to others EVEN though she may be late in coming forward (according to some) or having benefited from her silence — no matter — she is NOW wanting to move forward.

Does she has ulterior motives? No clue. Does it REALLY matter?

Is there a GREATER plan in place?

I surely do not know. I’m not privy to any of that and IF I were — it wouldn’t cause me to rush back into the church or even encourage anyone else to do so —

    WHY?

Because I don’t believe that LRH intended, at its core, for scientology to be an elitist group — which it is when some profess to be BETTER than others because of their point of view. This includes Debbie Cook. Nonetheless, I applaud her taking this step.

    WH

    • Yes WH… I noted when you said: “Because I don’t believe that LRH intended, at its core, for scientology to be an elitist group — which it is when some profess to be BETTER than others because of their point of view. This includes Debbie Cook”, I thought indeed there’s still an element of arrogance that’ll continue the divisiveness, the “holier than them” attitude. Until a true embrace and acceptance for the competency of others to be equally effective in their efforts is made, there will be conflict and no peace around her and those of like mind.

The proof: “The truth is that as a Scientologist you are more able, more perceptive and have a higher integrity.” Q: How could she know this without knowing what each and every other caring person’s character was and what they are doing?

Anyway… thanks for pointing this out WH… perhaps if she reads your post, she’ll further begin to embrace The Great Middle Path and STILL see her goals realized.

      • THE split which created “the other” is almost from beginningless time.

It manifests in all of us. Try NOT having a thought — good, bad or neutral when you see someone or something.

Its nearly impossible. I cannot do it. Instantly even before thought registers really, I’ve thought — yuk, yum or oh hum.

I know you agree, Mickey, it’s not JUST scientologists or independents or other religions or non-religions who beef up this “them and us” but really all of us, as human beings. Some of course radically, others less forcefully but all of us do it.

And it’s the ability to completely LET GO of our egos and embrace The Dao, or Christ Consciousness, or Buddhanature or Basic Goodness that we will then have peace on earth.

        It’s something to aspire to!!

        Love,
        Windhorse

    • Thank you for your viewpoint. The amount of judgement and evaluation that goes on in with rank and file Scio’ists, in or out creates a huge divide. Truly in the end what we all want is to simply ‘move on up a little higher’. Leaving the evaluation at the door would better serve all to a greater degree. Less conflict – equals less case.

    • It takes a while to run out the 3D engramm. The group engramm.
It takes time to decompress. And she is taking responsibility the way she sees the circumstances.
This email will have inevitable impact on the lines of Scientology.
Why judge her for taking her time to prepare for the best impact possible?
Even if it WOULD be only in her own estimation.

    • This is such a good post Windhorse.

Tech Dict: GRANT BEINGNESS, the ability to assume or grant (give, allow) beingess is probably the highest of human virtues. It is even more important to be able to permit (allow) other people to have beingness than to be able to oneself assume it.

Her email was exactly what was needed in order to not only break through to a whole new level of people who need to confront what IS but to add even more power to the whistleblowers of this and other blogs – IMHO

In spite of what Debbie may think, her action of sending out her e-mail puts her squarely in the same category as most of us. She has “spoken out publicly against the Church and/or a Scientologist in good standing”. She is not using the Church’s accepted Ethics and Justice comm lines. She is going outside of the Church to affect the change that she is forwarding. She is “inciting to mutiny”.

She will have been summarily declared SP the instant that DM recovered from his apoplectic fit sufficiently to make somewhat intelligible sounds.

The hornets nest has been well and truly struck, yet again.

I hope she survives what is surely to be leveled against her.

It is at times like this that she will be needing some “true friends”. I hope she is strong enough and aware enough to reach out to this group, if her existing “friends” abandon her.

      I wish her luck.

      Eric S

      • Eric — many of her FB friends will desert her but my guess is that since her departure from the SO she has made some true scientology friends — who will now be able, thanks to Debbie’s new stand, rally around her.

If she has one true friend stand by her – that’s all it takes. And one true friend stands by that friend and soon she’ll be surrounded by many.

When Marty first starting to ponder coming forward, he didn’t even have a scientology friend. But he had a TRUE friend – his wife Mosey, who is now a trained auditor and clear.

And look at how many friends Marty now has.

It only takes ONE other person to make sane group … and from that one more and one more etc.

She’ll be fine I think. She’s done what is the hardest. She’s stepped out from behind the shadows.

        Love,

        • Li'll bit of stuff

Eric & WH From a brand new experience as a blogger,
just 3 months ago ( thanks Eric,) I never the less, as a
40 yrs veteran of applying Scn basic tech & philosophy
and also the stable gains achieved from lower level
auditing, ever ceased to be amazed, at the sheer
power, of obnosis, ARC,KRC, the auditing comm cycle,
full use of TR’s, symptoms of O/W’s, 3rd pty, S.P’s
M/U’s and the various phenomena when not “in”.

The range of scales, when properly understood, and
backed by ‘The Factors, Q’s and Axioms and Codes and charts, (all referred to on a frequent basis) ……. gives me…. clarity in this one simple LRH evaluation:

“Judge people by what they think of ‘help.’
The good can help…the bad can’t, or if they do, it’s
          only to betray ”

I’ve gotten THAT message very emphatically, from
just this site alone and assure you, have no problem
          using LRH’s judging process. I also know,for sure…..
……neither do you! ….and as for Debbie ? welcome!

  12. Simply Revolting

It contains all the essentials that every independent has read, but I am very impressed as it is so elegantly written and with all the references.
My first main question is how many have or will get to read this? I would be interested to know. I would like to watch the expression on faces of those who have never bothered to question or find out…

  13. Confirmed…

I received the news last night and this morning I confirmed in her FB page.

    It´s amazing the answer.

Dozens of public telling her that they see the same but they need confirmation that she really sent that mail. She wrote yes indeed.

This is the final blow to the RCS.

When they believe we are fucked up; comes the final blow…

As Brad Pitt does it in his final “Snatch” fight…

  14. Awesome. May this comm fly far and wide.

  15. Wow. I am forwarding this email to my friends as fast as I can type.

  16. This is huge in many ways. Debbie’s silence added credibility to the scene as it exists and this blows that out of the water. As you mentioned this will be “safe” for some to read and creates a whole new layer of opened eyes.
Re any criticisms of her, we all have plenty of actions or inactions and non-confronts to fill a book, so I am inclined to embrace her words and thank her for them. She woke up- that is a good thing. I know prominent people that will welcome this in spades.
There is a whole lot of shaking going on!
    Happy New Year to all!

  17. Theo Sismanides

There is an on going big discussion on her wall…on FB.

    Debbie Jean Cook

I am sending every Scientologist in “good standing” (lol) the following message.

ALL SCIENTOLOGISTS STAND UP NOW AND FIGHT FOR STANDARD TECH! BRAVO TO DEBBIE COOK! THIS SONG IS DEDICATED TO HER! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBcMKwbMEcQ

LRH US GAVE US HIS LEGACY… WE ARE NO GOOD BOYS AND GOOD GIRLS… STAND UP AND FIGHT!

AND SO SOME OF YOU IN “GOOD STANDING” KNOW I GOT DECLARED 10 YEARS AGO FOR INSISTING ON THE APPLICATION OF 2 HCOBS FOR TRANSLATION… OH IF LRH WAS AROUND….. SO STAND UP AND FIGHT NOW!!!

  18. Excellent posting. The cult is dead now. A great start to 2012.

  19. I have been reading this blog for a long time but have never posted due to fear of being disconnected from by my family. They are some of the highest tech trained and dedicated SO staff on the planet (have been for decades), and I love them very much. The only world they have known for decades is what is spoon fed to them at events and by execs. They have no internet access and what limited e-mail they do have is monitored and edited through their orgs.
Anyway… This letter from Debbie is HUGE. As you are well aware she is very well respected as having survived as the head of the FSO longer than anyone. And she appears to have done it fairly well. I know that many, long time, still in, Scientologists will take her letter very seriously. And I feel that the way she laid it out was exactly what is needed. Those still in believe they are fitting the good fight. Pure good vs. evil. But they don’t have all the data and put blinders on because they believe in the tech and choose to ignore any wrong doings by management as a distraction that will one day magically handle itself. I have noticed this about highly tech trained long time SO. They believe in the tech, they believe that corporate Scientology is the only possible protector of that tech. And they just want to deliver!
I believe that they put their faith in corporate Scientology because through the years “splinter groups”, “Independents”, etc have never survived long-term. And revolting internally is a very dangerous proposition for them (perceived threat of the loss and alteration of source) .
So this letter from Debbie, from one of their own, however sugar coated, is a really great thing. I can only hope that the sheeple actually LOOK at the current state of affairs, apply tech, and start to take responsibility for the situation. Heck, it compelled me to write this message!

    • Hello Todd P: Thank you for posting. I received over the holidays an email from a friend who was “bragging” about his son, still in the SO. His post and how he’s traveled around the world setting up the “Ideal Org” events.

He went on to say — “we are REALLY expanding and getting huge”

He believe this … why? Because THAT is what he sees at events. He doesn’t read the news, he certainly doesn’t read these blogs and it has never, apparently, dawned on him that he is being fooled.

      Debbie’s email is huge.

      WH

    • Todd,

It pained me when I first said it because I am as staunch a supporter of LRH as the next man, but people have to wake up to the fact that Corporate Scientology failed. It failed it’s orgs, it failed it’s people and, most of all, it failed the world at large. When you take a good look at the real world you see three things:

      1. Corporate Scientology is tiny, minuscule, getting smaller by the day and failed to fulfill LRH’s intention, miserably. 2. The “splinter groups” that left Corporate Scientology in waves years ago are, surprise surprise, still rolling along. 3. The world is passing Corporate Scientology by and using pieces of LRH tech into the bargain — LRH tech got through regardless of the stops Corporate Scientology (DM) put in the way.

The underlying reason for all this? Too few people took enough personal responsibility for the subject called Scientology and it is still happening — see KRC triangle.

Conclusion? Only a real and full reformation and all that that implies will suffice. I don’t mean reforming Corporate Scientology. I mean a real reformation.

      • Right Haydn, but one has to start somewhere, with communication that can be accepted by the intended recipients.

As that famous OT and fully trained and interned Nanny Mary Poppins once sang, “A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down, the medicine go down……”

    • Todd,
Thank you, I am happier for having read what you wrote. It’s not easy to have people you love not look or be unable to look at what the web has enabled us to see. How many of us actually believed for example that Mayo lost his legal battle to practice Scn? That’s what I was “told” and believed for decades!!!! who knew until the world wide web and casting aside of fear came together resulting in the web page that shows he won his case!!! Who knew that a long time SO member gave a deposition before he died that stated that cob ordered the disconnection policy to be restored after LRH had it cancelled in 1968? who knew that hundreds of top level executives of our church have been blowing the whistle on cob for not just these last two years but for DECADES!!!

I think you’re right Todd that they just want to be able to deliver the tech and screw what ever else is going on around them. However even the techies have to get involved in this one because it’s OUR reputations on the line. A true auditor doesn’t blindly execute a program let alone a next CS that they don’t agree with. The auditors MUST truly STAND TALL.

One can hope that today is a new day and that cob didn’t even bother to pack his bags before leaving town…

Hi again George and hello Todd, nice to see your comm.

This old LRH quote is wasted on our ‘dear leader’ but
Kapitein Kamikazi would never understand it anyway…

…” Truth is built by those who have the breadth and
balance to see also where the’re wrong.”

        Luv & ARC li’ll bit

  20. Thank you Marty for the nice e-mail forward.
I was actually just pondering yesterday on how POB was going to be giving his farewell speech and when. Of course with this e-mail going out the speech will all have to be rewritten very hurriedly. lol

  21. I’m left with a strong suspicion that Debbie got on the receiving end of the typical crush reg cycles that the public has endured for years. I guess she didn’t want to donate her hush money to the IAS, Superpower, Basics, Idle Morgues, etc.

She needs some auditing from one of the Independents. Then she could’ve simply stated the obvious: POB is a sociopath.

    • Tom, her letter is directed to those still in. Had she written that POB is nuts, anyone still in would delete it and move on. It would have no impact.

Regarding her “hush money”, true or not, let it go. It will only eat at you. The only thing that matters is what she, or anyone else, is doing right now to help those still in to get through the door and to help those already out get the help they need. They are far too many “Miscavige products” who need help. To spend any time or emotional energy on negative feelings toward anyone speaking out won’t accomplish anything. Let it go. These people need help.

definition Miscavige Product: Someone spiritually, emotionally, physically or financially messed up / ruined / in tatters after receiving DM’s altered tech or punitive heavy handed ethics.

      • Thanks Pat,

I had just finished rereading Debbie’s letter minutes ago and had a changed viewpoint that you just voiced. Thanks for pointing this out.

        • You’re welcome Tom. I just finished re-reading her first few paragraphs. I have some concerns that I truly hope aren’t valid. I really hesitated before deciding to post these thoughts.

I may get flamed to hell for saying this but God I hope her letter is sincere and NOT a ploy cooked up by and in cahoots with DM in an attempt to get people back in the fold. The weird thing is that I can take that letter and argue both sides of the argument: ploy versus not a ploy. Time will tell. There, I said it.

FYI: I’m a big fan of ethics conditions. I love the ethics tech. Debbie, what I really want to see is you front & center in the press speaking out against the abuses. How about calling Tom Tobin?

          • Pat — I commented in response to some others, if this were to be a “ploy” it is perhaps the stupidest ploy in history. Like coming up with a plan to shoot down your own planes to gain sympathy from the populace that we need support. Even if it were to be a ploy (I am certain it is not) it makes no difference as such a “ploy” would create the same result as a “not ploy.”

Make no mistake, Debbbie’s email will land like a turd in the KoolAid punchbowl. And it WILL cause some people to stop drinking from the bowl. Of course, there will be those that will continue to eat shit and believe it’s caviar, but as their numbers dwindle, so will Dear Leader’s visibility.

            • …land like a turd in a KoolAid punchbowl.
Some of the things you say just crack me up. What a visual on that one!

You’re right that it would be a beyond stupid ploy. But I put nothing past a desperate, cornered rat. If it were a ploy, it would just go to show how truly desperate DM has become. I can’t help but see the twisted humor in DM being so flipped out that he would resort to citing LRH policy.

            • LOL great visual!

            • lol, you sure earnt some ‘brownie’ points with me.

            • Li'll bit of stuff

I Confess I just simply can’t get enough of you, Mike. Pure
unadulterated Rinderspeak. No doubt, honed by years of watching Klutzo the clown, bust his way into town, swagger,
uninvited, into a “church,” scream at the top of his lungs,so
loudly, many of the parishioners and clergy, took fright and
left.including the original Pastor. You and a few stayed on.
As you know so well,he converted this former place of
sanctuary, into a ONE MAN Circus! Complete with a mind
numbing array of performances. Do you remember seeing
him at the ticket entrance? The little guy with the big head?
You don’t ? Of course not! He’d already begun his first act,
silly! Mass hypnosis! Yes, “relax…SLEEEEEP!”(lights out!)

The NEXT thing you probably saw, was a little Ringmaster, standing, spotlighted ring centre, dressed in a penguin suit,
snap his fingers, loudly, scream at the top of his lungs:”GIVE”
followed by an avalanche of cascading monetary notes,
thrown wildly into the air, to flutter into the ring, followed by deafening applause from a mesmerised audience. He scooped it all into a huge bag and…. poof!….It all vanished without a trace

Hey! What about that unexpected early intermission ?
You remember? Everyone got up to go and have a glass
of Glitsy Kool Aid, prepared and served by none other
than…. Klutzo the Great! Everybody got so excited after
that, the next thing you knew, everybody got into the Act,
putting on animal suits, cop outfits, vampire cloaks and
yes, what about the judge, jury and executioner acts

I remember you telling me that you even found yourself
paraded out with a whole bunch of people who just
might do some legwork to help turn this show into the the best thing since burnt toast and maybe even top every thing else in town!

Geez, how did he manage that genetic parlour trick ?
Ridiculous! Turning people into Sheeple? Yeah I was
one too! Funny thing was, people in the acts and in
the audience weren’t laughing anymore, they were
either silent, or imitating ‘Klutzospeak’, or crying softly.

Then came his Gestapo Suit complete with that silly
mustache, Cap and Gloves and 8″ high Jackboots!
This had to be his best outfit yet, Mike! I mean
everyone saluted him! And his dog too! Remember?

Yeah, I know you have to be going now, but not
before wrapping up about that last act, that really got every body agitated. Remember all those cages
backstage ? Where He kept all the ‘dangerous
animals’ I believe he used to torment, starve and
beat them so they could jump through hoops much
better, or so he thought ….. Anyway….Mike.. Mike ?

Darn! He’s gone! Something about getting a NEW
show on the road… with Marty!….Oh well.. some
              other time… maybe…… ( sigh )

( A tribute to someone who has really walked the
walk and KNOWS how to talk the talk! ) and when
NOT to take things….. toooo seriously!

              MR

          • Pat, this is like watching a tennis match!!! I re-read Debbie’s letter and I had the thought….would if? I agree that time will tell and to Debbie, I also love the ethics tech. It works.

      • Nicely stated, Pat. Corrected, with your permission, to “definition Miscavige Product: Someone spiritually, emotionally, physically and/or financially messed up / ruined / in tatters after receiving DM’s altered tech and/or punitive heavy handed ethics or has lost a loved one to the above.”

  22. What a way to start the new year!

Even though it is somewhat weak, I personally understand that Debbie wrote this letter in a way that she will not get into legal trouble. She simply wrote a Knowledge Report per Scientology doctrine and sent it to her friends. Nothing wrong with that.

What is interesting is that her Facebook site is buzzing and already OSA is doing damage control claiming that her Facebook site was “hacked” and someone else wrote this letter. Nice try OSA. Debbie reconfirmed on Facebook that she sent the letter.

I would give a lot of money to be a fly on the wall in the bunker right now. It would be better than anything I have ever seen.

    Thanks for being responsible Debbie.

    ML Tom

    • From Debbie’s FB page “Dear Friends, Yes, the email was written by me. No I am not connected to anyone not in good standing. I did it because of my love and respect for LRH and the desire to see us correct situations that need correcting within our group”. Debbie Cook

“Weak up guy and confront the evil! I am sure this facebook account is hacked by an SP, and an SP is using controlling her fb account (writing in her name), and the letter you may received form her is set by an SP in her name”. Laszlo Berndt (Now then, all that talking’s made me thirsty. Did some one say they had some Kool Aid?)

    • Tom

Yes, I believe you are right, she may not get into legal trouble, but she has certainly opened herself up for a “summary SP Declare”. Broadcasting a KR to ones friends is certainly not per “Scientology Doctrine”…..

      Warning… “sudden” to follow…..
(God I hate those terms for LRHs written works… “Doctrine”… “Scriptures”… What a total load of PR bullshit and slight of hand! Every time I read or hear them I want to wretch. These are not “sacred” writings… The church of Miscavige’s Scientology uses them to solidify their “religious shield”. Please, consider what you are doing when you forward this crap.)

This was posted 2 minutes ago by Debbie on her wall.

Debbie Jean Cook I am here and am trying to answer the comm from everyone as fast as I can. I did write the email. I got the email addresses from the info section in for each of my friends on facebook. Please feel free to email me or to message me any questions or comm you have and I will answer as rapidly as I can.

  24. I’m with WH on this. What Debbie did is courageous and noble, simple as that. It will forward our cause greatly. I just forwarded it to the vast majority of the Phoenix field, such as it is. Happy New Year to Mike, Marty and all who post here. You have provided an island of sanity and hope for a lot of folks. Can’t thank you enough.

    • Is this the Dave Richards who once was Distrib Sec (Div 6) at the FSO — circa 1976-1980?

    • Mr. Dave Richards! Nice to see your real name here: Famed Commanding Officer of the DC Org in the 1970′s when it grew to St Hill size, in early 1980′s Flag Dessem Sec that ran Flag Tours selling actual auditing and training and was one of the few people in the world awarded Kha-Khan status by LRH personally. I guess your posting here will use up one of your lives. Ha..

Anyway, agreed: what Debbie did was courageous and noble.

  25. This is the perfect print out to send in all those return reply envelopes I get from The “Corporation”.
    Good for you Debbie!

  26. Almost every thought I have had about The Church of Scientology is in this post.

I have always been exterior to the Church. I always felt like an outsider. Even when I was in the SO, I kept saying what am I doing here? I learned my lesson fast. If you want respect in the COS you have to be public. I never saw the staff get one bit of respect. Even in the early days.

One thing in this post that stuck out to me was not advertising on TV. I always wanted infomercials that just covered the basics. Talking directly to the Thetans. No matter how “normal” the person is, just a bit of Scientology info helps them. I rarely even credit Scientology because the data is so logical and a discussion would start that would take me away from the purpose of helping.

The thing that brought me to this point was a video from those that were not friendly to the COS. I watch with the attitude that these folks were bastards. But I heard one question “Where is Heber?” And of course that got me thinking. I liked Heber and wondered “Where is Heber”, looked into it, and here I am.

I always thought “wow” ‘ those at the top of the COS must be walking on a cloud with total access to auditing. How wrong I was as I now see OT’s battling. It makes me wonder “What the hell have all these people been doing?” There is obviously no cloud and no Serenity of Beingness. Hell I have more happiness than most I see here. Have many dropped out and living happy lives elsewhere in obscurity???

And in reference to management. I never thought it has been a good thing to promote from within. When you see a WOG orgainization, most are there because they had an education and interest for the job. Many in the COS were made by battlefield appointments or by schmoozing the right person. It all looked political to me.

I also never understood the competition that Flag had with the orgs. Flag should have only delivered the higher services. I never saw the orgs standing a chance. I always thought is should be a grassroots movement like is was in the beginning.

It looks like DM’s reign is coming to an end and I hope it can be put back together as a more cohesive group. Starting at the local level and supported totally by the top.

I do see 2012 the “year the world will end as we know it” will end and a new world begins. With the people here I can see it happening.

      Joes300e ………. Hello to you!

We appear to come from vastly differing backgrounds and
experiences and I (and my wife) was / were only ‘ tempted ‘
to join the S/O, unlike you.We all ended up wiser, anyway!!

Reading your story, though, brings home just how many of
us, actually share the same view. To the extent of almost
being……( two ) peas in a pod!…. I also say ditto to your
closing line….. and just to add, we’re all aboard a new virtual ship with unlimited capacity and piloted by captains and crew who are NOTafraid to voyage into “a new world”

  27. Fantastic letter. BUT I wont give any support to the official church, and not one dime!!! I am sure the more she is OUT, (and de-pts-es) the more she will see that.

She is mentioning in the email to withdraw support of the illegal fundraising, it has gone beyond that! Basic civil rights violated, most of the group is indoctrinated in the suppressive treatment of families and people in the group, if they dont tow the line. Free thinking? I havent seen free thinking since 1979. This is an on going situation in the group. Perhaps its a group engram that will lend itself to being audited out. Birds of a feather flock together. They remind me of a cell.

she was my auditor once, many moons ago, just before she became captain. her space was so peaceful and clean. her auditing was soooo smooth, I was wondering what was so different- she was an L’s auditor I found out later. wow! I got home and she was announced as captain in the magazine.

    • “…it has gone beyond that! Basic civil rights violated, most of the group is indoctrinated in the suppressive treatment of families and people in the group, if they dont tow the line. Free thinking? I havent seen free thinking since 1979.”

Ditto on that one, Deb. The group needs massive reformation. The basic purpose of helping ones fellows — auditing and training — needs to be exhumed, and the “bad policies or pressure-group laws” need to be “slashed from the books” (just as LRH recommends in “The Structure of Organization, What is Policy”, 13-Mar-1965).

Maybe if Heber Jentzch and Diana Hubbard took the reigns … if only to coordinate/lead the reformation. All I know is that massive changes are needed, and many of the rules/policies/mores of the last 30 years (and in some cases, earlier) need to overhauled.

      • Sure, but the place to start is by cutting off DM’s income. That also takes some major suppression off the folks who are still donating and start them on the right track of getting out from under the other delusions they have been implanted with.

  28. I hope Debbie is prepared for visitors and the camera crew is there to catch the event.

  29. I know, you say this wont have an immediate effect and will be more like a seed but I wonder? One thing I have learned is that over-regging is a realtime effect people are living with and being that, it directly impacts them. It is one albatross that weighs most heavy on them. I suspect if Debby Cook is saying it, everyone else is feeling and thinking it. She is one person I would have suspected to drink the Kool-Aid till the end so you can imagine my shock at this story. There is the very real possibility if DM retaliates against her, a good size group will back her up. Why? Because they have no choice, as they are all broke. While this is the first major story of 2012 (less than 24 hours in to the new year) it might be the most relevant for the next year. There is no way with the trend that has been set that this issue of over-regging is going away or going to get better. The cult is getting smaller by they day and the need to keep appearances up will only get stronger and with it, over-regging. If this truly went out to 12,000 members it is more than a crack, it is a call to action in the face of oppression and to me more like a compromised band-aid on a dike holding back a flood.

  30. Looks like the Doubt Formulae is finally being looked at.

  31. ‎[sorry I keep having more to say, and reposting]

Fantastic letter. BUT I wont give any support to the official church, and not one dime!!! To begin with the prices are UNREAL, AND OFF POLICY.

What about the execs? They cant do anything about DM? Obviously not. Then they dont deserve to be the execs. They failed. They cant do anything to save those imprisoned – not even allow for their escape?
Their inaction is an indication of robotism, or overts.

There is a reason why outsiders look upon the scientology group with such disbelief, and quit or stay away – because their behavior is so odd in comparision to standard treatment of staff or co-workers, or customers in any group. They cant even treat you good as a customer!

I cant imagine being treated the way I was in my job. (granted wogs dont know a good justice procedure, in a group, but you dont have to sleep on the floor under your desk for punishment! And you do have alternatives for injustice in a job)

The only thing missing in the official church is burning people at the stake, for they certainly do lock people up to die, like the old catholic church.

I wonder do they have the muddie catacombs for people to die slowly in, or is it just a dirty sewer room that people like the old pres Herber are kept in? (if your not familiar with the catholic catacombs, they were a place to be walled up in and die slow. No sun light..to get to heaven – the goal was to die)

She was my auditor once, many moons ago, just before she became captain. Her space was so peaceful and clean. Her auditing was soooo smooth, I was wondering what was so different- she was an L’s auditor I found out later. Wow! I got home and she was announced as captain in the magazine.

  32. I had some comm with Luis Garcia last night and this morning about this. He immediately pointed out that she did not align herself with the Independents but appears to be attempting to “revive a corpse” from within. I agree completely with Luis.

The Independent Scientology model is the most viable and secure way to ensure that the tech of Dn and Scn is safeguarded by not limiting it’s possession to the untrustworthy few. It also ensures that the Freemarket and the Conditions of Exchange (in addition to KSW, of course) are the primary governing factors in the standard delivery of the tech.

Bravo to Debbie for standing up and speaking out. It takes integrity and courage to do so.

    • Scott: I agree with you and Luis.

WHo knows what factors there are surrounding Debbie’s email. But I do know this.

It will be a “pinch me” moment for members of the RCS when they get her message. The Church has not had an opportunity to “Dead Agent” her — it was a bolt from the blue they cannot stop. They can’t brush it off as “just more SPs in the media” as she didnt go to the media. They can’t dismiss it as “natter” because she cites numerous policies. They can’t say she is “just an apostate” because she says she is a loyal member of the church. They can’t dismiss her as a “gold digger” because she has no apparent financial motive or interest in doing this — au contraire, it is probably not in her financial best interests. And they cannot say “She was removed in disgrace for failing to live up to our lofty ethical standards” as they have made a point of NOT saying anything negative about her.

All in all, I would judge this to be a sharp kick in DM’s nuts. He has probably kicked a few cats and screamed til his voice gave out, assigned a few more people to the hole and then started dictating streams of lunatic knee-jerk responses. The “Dead Agent” stuff will start appearing soon. They will come up with some story — “Debbie destroyed the FSO and ruined their finances, but because of the amazing compassion of COB, she was allowed to go on a medical leave. After she left, COB had to personally straighten out the ethics, tech and admin of the FSO and they are booming like never before. Debbie never was good at her job, it was RTC that made the FSO grow.” Or some twisted variation of the above.

In the meantime, the Scientology grapevine is being singed with copiues of this email going everywhere. It’s the sort of thing every Scientology HAS to see. Flag is probably flat out on a call-in evolution today to tell everyone not to read it and that its a forgery. Of course, that will encourage everyone to go find it.

A great way to start the New Year.

      • +1 — GREAT way to start the New Year

      • That’s a correct eval and it points out the real value of the letter. You were also right about the DA attempt by OSA: Debbie didn’t write the letter. But knowing OSA she already DA’d it on her facebook by affirming she did write it. It’s an outright attack, better engineered and more lie piercing than any thought stopping Davey Tech can stand. Sorry Davey, Bulgravia or else…..

      • Mike – Playing Devil’s Advocate here, but is there a chance this is just DM folding up shop and covering his ass to keep the “ministerial exemption” and the money many allege he has stashed away? If he is “removed internally” does that diffuse any on-going FBI investigations?

        • Carcha — I very much doubt it. But nobody can honestly predict the actions of the insane, and as each day passes, POB gets more and mnore insane.

          • Mike – Thanks. Hope you are right. I’d just like to see the trademark and copyright issues set right so that honest individuals can audit and train free from the Co$, and openly. Maybe even restitution paid to former Mission holders, monies on account returned, and other redresses paid (what a mess). Thank you for assuming leadership and spreahead towards these wishes I’m sure many share. (And I hope the rest of 2012 isn’t quite as fast and furious as the opening hour, or I’ll have to shop for a seatbelt.) – Carcha.

        • The FBI is his last worry; they need him as much as he needs them. He can legally only be removed by CST and they will only do so when their cash cow dries up. Getting his cash cow to stop donating is the surest way to get fired. Even Davey is not that stupid; he lives by their energy as he has none of his own. Once fired they will put bloodbrothers Yager and Starkey in charge and start all over again. In that case he’ll be the black sheep and he knows it. He’s been fighting that very scenario his whole life and he geared up all thought control mechanisms to prevent it ever from happening…..thus it’ll happen….. He has no control over it.

          • If Yager and crazy-eyed Starkey end up in charge, it will be a non-starter. Let the Clears (or the OT VIIs or general membership) elect its new leadership. Here’s LRH on it:

“If you ever have the occasion to elect a leader for your group … compare records as follows: Take the person who is a good auditor, not just says he is. Take the person who has a good, not necessarily the highest, profile and IQ. Take the person who can grant beingness to others. And look at the relative serenity and efficiency of any past command he may have had. And even then you’re taking a chance. So always elect temporarily and reserve the right of recall. If his first action is to fire people, recall him at once and find another leader.” (Source: “The Theory of Scientology Organizations”, 2-Nov-1970).

LRH may have been down on “democracy”, but he recognized the workability of certain elements, such as the need for an election, as above. He also says in the same reference: “Democracy is only possible in a nation of Clears — and even they can make mistakes.”

In my opinion, if someone(s) steps up to the plate to help coordinate the election, that’s fine. But no more coups, no more “leadership” by force. Let the Clears (or the OT VIIs, or just the general membership) choose the leadership of CST, RTC and CSI. And then let those leaders fill the respective top spots in the various sub-groups and executive strata.

I don’t know how we’ll get to the point of having elections, but I don’t see a “de facto leadership” (ala Yager or Starkey) being any better than Miscavige.

Someone needs to step up to the plate to put the transition plans in place, imho. I know of plenty of Scientologists that I would happily nominate for leadership. Don’t know how interested they’d be, however.

      • Hi Mike,

Exactly. A kick in the nuts with Cowboy boots on!

From one to another who know how to differentiate between “ordinary” and “sharp” kicks in the nuts.

    • “He immediately pointed out that she did not align herself with the Independents but appears to be attempting to “revive a corpse” from within.”

That was my take as well and I concur with your statement that the Independent Scientology model is the most viable and secure way of safeguarding the tech.

      • It really make no difference what her intentions are. DM and his cult bots will not allow any change. She will be attacked and marked, people are already posting Facebook fallout on WhyWeProtest. There are clear lines being drawn. DM’s response to this will be very telling. The more he attacks her the more she is likely to fight back. Much like Marty and Mike, she can sting him real good. On the other hand by not taking action it opens the door for others to step up and say their bit. I see a major war brewing and nothing can stop it. Even if they got her to recant the damage is done.

      • Karen B,

Totally. The overhead costs of the Co$ are way too high to be sustainable even at their astronomical prices. Some government is necessary, but the central functions for Indies would be what? Printing and publishing? Some minimal fee accreditation? IFA has such. (I keep swearing I’m not going to post anymore, but every now and then I come across someone who sees things rationally and can’t resist.) – Carcha.

  33. I think it’s classic, ‘stalking horse’ tactic, i.e. some sort of sanctioned challenge to Marty as the imagined ‘head’ of the reformation.

    • Earth to Sara… Not a chance even the idiots running OSA would sanction this — a huge public OL pointing out numerous policy violations of Dear Leader. Never gonna happen. (Apart from it being a stupid tactic to strengthen your “enemy” in order to “divide” him). Hope you and your family are having a wonderful New Year!

  34. Well, it’s a new dawn….a new day! wow, wow, wow, Debbie, I toured with you, I knew you when you became Captain at the FSO, I had lots of love and respect for you. I know you had to have been pushed beyond by the criminal DM. I wish you and Wayne a Happy New Year. You did the right thing!

  35. Debbie, your confront is sky high. Well done for giving a damn.

  36. Bravo!I think a really great year has just begone!

    Thank you!

  37. It’s been a long time coming for many of those near the top of the Org board. Obviolusly it took quite a bit of courage to post this letter, especially from a “Scientologist in good Standing”.
But to those of us who have had the abillity to see from the begining it is really quite late on the chain.
There may be some hope for the church, but I think the POB and his band of theives and brigands will defend their billions and drum her out of the church as an apostate.

  38. This mail reminds me on 1985. After they got rid of 60 percent of the paying publics they found out having applied ethics too hard. So they stated, they had applied ethics too hard. But did they undo or correct their actions previously done? No.
Now this mail states that things had been done wrong and that it is now your responsibility to correct it. Maybe after they found out that no paying public is left.

  39. On ESMB there is a post that OSA is claiming that Debbie’s e-mail and Facebook have been hacked. Debbie is claiming on Facebook that she wrote the letter. Certainly interesting. To WH – same person.

    • Holy smokes. Not 2 months ago I was in NYC with 2 former SO friends and your name came up. We spent at least an hour going from you, to Ken, to Darby etc etc … I haven’t seen these 2 on 30 years and they were GREAT!!

  41. Happy new year to Mosey, the 2 MR, and all! Very hot start for 2012! This stuff will go viral, and that’s the most important.

  42. OMG. This is huge. DM is completely painted into a corner with this one. Does he declare her an SP? Does he send the Squirrel Busters to her house and place of work? What to do, what to do, what to do? This is the best soap opera going on in my life. Tom Clancy, Steven King and Danielle Steele could not combined come up with a plot that is even halfway as exciting to follow as this blog.

    • I just got the idea that der midget may not be able to do anything to her. It is quite likely that while getting her to sign whatever papers she did when she went back to route out “per policy”, Debbie, in return would have insisted on something to protect herself. For example, she hasn’t done anything except quote LRH policy and tell people to follow LRH policy, to demand to be shown LRH policy when asked to do something they do not want to do.
Her email is VERY cleverly written. She has emphatically made it clear she is not aligned to the Indie Field and considers herself a Scientologist in Good Standing. I would bet that she has hamstrung OSA and the lawyers with how she did this. And, I would also bet she ensured her own caveat was included in the papers she signed so she could not be attacked or defamed publicly. Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice.

  43. Thanks for sharing this Marty, and many thanks to Debbie for writing it.
I’ve also forwarded this to as many people as I know.

2012 is definitely looking to be the Apocalypse for David. (POB)

    Ron Minor

  44. Debbie, I hope you read this because I want you to know that you have my love and respect. Thank you very much for speaking out and being so courageous.

  45. “I think that Debbie has done exactly the right thing with this email.”
    Ax

I agree. Below some messages on her facebook wall indicates
    what needs to be penetrated.

” Ralph Angel:- I kniow no reference that says you send lots of messages to Scientiologists, turning them against management. If what she says is true, she needs to handle it standardly!
    3 hours ago · 9 ”

” Gayle Smith :- When you LOOK at what is happening and KNOW that LRH policy IS TO BE OUR AGREEMENT!!! Then how can you conclude ANYTHING OTHER THAN “MANAGEMENT HAS TURNED AGAINST US AGAINST LRH!!!!”
    3 hours ago · 2″

“Otto Krog :-DEbbie, you are some courageous woman. The very best for your 2012.”

    • Tell that guy that has not seen anything in writing to tell others about out ethics situations to read Davey’s version of Introduction to Scientology Ethics, pg 362. Levels of Ehthics and Justice Gradients:
      5. Talking to somebody about another derogatorily.
      10. Investigating a person by interrogating others about him.
      12. Publishing an interrogatory about a person that points out omissions or commissions of ethics offences.
      14. Assigning a lower condition by broad publication.

    • This is my personal favorite:
‎”I emailed a terminal at OSAFSO last night who email back to me that he strongly suspected Debbie’s identity had been stolen to create the entheta email sent out last night. Maybe, the person who ‘verified’ the data she knew you, made a good guess. Still don’t believe Debbie wrote such an etheta piece of S **t.”
      Can you spell D-E-N-I-A-L ???

  46. What a nice surprise to wake up to and start 2012!!! I have sent her letter to many of my former “friends” and still-to-be Cof$ members. This is HUGE! Yes, she could have spoken out 20 years ago but better now than never!

  47. Ed Bryan has posted a positive response to Debbie on her FB page. Isn’t he one of those who was sent to stalk you, Marty?

  48. This email by Debbie is quite a miracle.

    She wrote this very recently.

What is she going to write – or to do – in the future ???

    • Guess that depends how stupid Miscavige really is doesn’t it?
Dumb enough to go after Debbie? I do hope so.

      • Miscavige has been soooooooooo successful in handling Marty Rathbun, Mike Rinder, Amy Scooby, Mark Headley, Michael Fairman, Jason Beghe, dozens of indipendant auditors, the Freezone movement, the St. Petersburg times, Tony Ortega, the authors of South Park, Anonymous, all those old school critics etc. etc. etc.

He will certainly not abstain from raking in another victory …

  49. Li'll bit of stuff

Marty, Mike, Ho hum, (un)folding pretty much as you predicted.
Not sure, but is that commotion on deck of a heavily listing
TItanic, just a desperate attempt, to head off a perceived
    stampede for the lifeboats ?

  50. What a way to start the new year. LOL

In the heat of battle, should one of your opponents, having previously retired from the field, suddenly swoop in delivering fatal shots to the heart of your opponent, certainly don’t impede them. Maybe even offer some support.

Whatever Debbie’s rationale and approach, whatever she may be sugar coating or ignoring for the sake of p/r, however she may be avoiding the topic of disconnection (cancelled by LRH- RJ 68), this is a significant blow.

    Nicely done Debbie.

It won’t matter that you did this privately in keeping with policy. You have just worn out your welcome. Expect trouble.

    • “You have just worn out your welcome. Expect trouble.”
      She must know what’s coming.
Either Debbie is very naive or very clever. I hope it’s the latter.

      • I think this is extraordinarily clever and well timed. Right after the New Years event. LOL Miscavige is busy soiling himself and getting on everyone else about it being their fault and needing to FIX it. LOL This is priceless. Some one said it was a kick to the nuts to Miscavige. It certainly is.
        Happy New Year David!

And you too Sam.:>) Although a bit more sincerely.

      • I think she is being very clever, Sam.

If she said, “Go over to Marty Rathbun’s blog and see for yourself”, “I’ve had enough and am getting out”, or even, “Wake the f*@k up you sheeple! Can’t you see what that nasty little creep Miscavige has done to our church?” Then she would have been dismissed out of hand and her email would have been deleted without a moment’s hesitation.

But what Debbie has done is written a calm, rational open letter, with the appropriate LRH references, and pointed out some things that most Corporate Scientologists already know but are afraid to vocalise. She has kept it very light touch and explained why writing KRs wouldn’t work (no one left to action them).

When the DMbots spring into action and try to give her the Squirrel Buster treatment and demand that everyone disconnects from her, she can just say, “Well all I did was communicate and quote some LRH. How is that wrong?” and everyone can see that this is the truth and some will start to realise that something is seriously wrong in the Magic Garden.

You know what it is like when you try to speak to people like Brian Daniels (a very decent guy, BTW) – they have been duped and can’t see past the ‘SP’ label. When I was at your place he accused me of committing suppressive acts, but couldn’t name any when I asked him to elucidate.

Those still in are seriously brainwashed and need to be led by the hand now.

        Ax

  51. And another important point I totally agree with Debbie Cook on is her statement of this:

“David Miscavige has now become the “leader” of the Scientology religion. Yet what LRH left behind was a huge structure to properly manage all aspects of the Scientology religion. He put a complete and brilliant organizational structure there, not one individual. There never was supposed to be a “leader” other than LRH himself as the goal maker for our group.”

I am sure I have stated this one way or another somewhere in the past on this blog because I happen to know this to be true. And it is tragic.

  52. Had a thought. Has Cruise or Travolta been sent a copy of Debbie’s emai?
Xenophon has a copy of that I’m sure.

  53. “This latest development will have no radical, immediate results.”

Marty, I know you’re not one to bet against, but on this one, I think you might be.

    • I agree.
I think the impact of this occurrence has been seriously underestimated.
Crack open a new box of copper rods DM! I’m going to go out and buy me a big bag of popcorn and wait for the fireworks.

      • Hi Sam,

Debbie has not opened up her comm lines to those “not in good standing” as of yet. If and until she does, we will not know the result of this email outside of the Independent Scn community and public domain.

I, for one, do believe that Marty’s estimation is correct in that the fallout effects of this would-be atomic bomb will play out over the coming months instead of immediately.

        • “the fallout effects of this would-be atomic bomb will play out over the coming months instead of immediately.”

I agree Scott although I believe there will be some immediate cogniting and withdrawal of support. IAS dono’s are sure to take an immediate hit. Can you imagine what the IAS regges are doing right now? LOL. Their asses are on the line for continued $$ flow and it will slow as people begin to hesitate and question and talk to their friends.

Another significant aspect of this is that it went to the scientology community at large not just us malcontents and will continue to circulate there. You just know OSA, IAS et all are working out how to stop that as we speak. LOL. I’m with Sam on this, I’m going to get some popcorn and watch the fireworks while these guys run their asses ragged on New Years Day. LOL I’l try to get into session but I may be FTAing again. LOL

          Happy New Years. LOL

          • Hi Tim,

Happy New Year to you too buddy.

I with you on that. People will hold onto their wallets when in doubt and I’m also sure OSA is scrambling to figure out how to D/A her. It’s definitely a sticky situation for them.

Gonna nickname you, “Blown away, FTA!”

            • Ok, It’s official. Needle banging down one side then the other. T/A adjustments up and down trying to keep it on the dial. YEP. It’s another FTA DAY. I love this R/D.

Thank you LRH and Happy New Year to your Sir!

          • If someone could find a way to profit from “people changing their phone numbers”, you know that would be a good investment right about now. :-)

        • Scott,
“Debbie has not opened up her comm lines to those “not in good standing” as of yet. If and until she does, we will not know the result of this email outside of the Independent Scn community and public domain.”

My dear friend, what do you base that statement upon? Please see my response to yours on FB. Debbie Cook actually maintains some of the most wide open comm lines you will ever see. I am sorry to say I put such little confidence in what she told me last year…that she was planning to do something. It didn’t happen quickly, so I surmised she wasn’t going to do it, I was wrong. Isn’t the first time I was wrong, won’t be the last, but I am learning.

          XO

  54. I have re-email Debbie Cook statements to people that I have known overseas.
They all agree that the Radical Scientology over reg all people at the cost of their own bridge.

  55. Debbie Cook had some choices to make. She chose integrity and she chose LRH. Good for her. Apparently her good reputation was both earned and real. When one’s reality changes it can still be hard to stand up and be counted. Debbie Cook just climbed a 9 foot fence because her conscience dictated it. Impressive. She joins the ranks of many here in my book.

  56. This is as damaging as it gets.
For all I haven’t agreed with the way Debbie and Wayne have handled themselves so far my respect for them both has returned.
It may seem ‘candy-coated’ or ‘safe’ but the fact of the matter is, Debbie has positioned herself in a way that it’s going to be VERY hard to attack or discredit her with the usual black-propoganda tools.
Reckon Debbie is through her own personal decompression period and on the road to full recovery.
So regardless of any other appearances I’d like to say this:
Debbie. Thank you for your Doubt Formula.
Welcome! It’s good to have you back ;)
    xxxx

  57. I was in my bed last night. It was approaching 12.00pm I’d say. I woke up. There was a mock up of LRHs physical face appeared above my head. It was an expression of condemnation. A few minutes later the fireworks started.
    I stand with you.
    Arthur Pendragon

  58. Here’s to the psychotic runt: Slappy New Year!!!!!!!!

  59. Debbie couldn’t have done a better job here.

I’ve read some comments above about how she “candy-coated” things. I utterly disagree. What she did is approach the problems with DM on the correct gradient for those still inside and mentally trapped.

Bravo Debbie Cook! This will go a very long way toward ridding the problem.

  60. This is definitely an auspicious beginning of year 2012! One “Dear Leader” is gone and the other is following.

One thing of note is that the strategy of buying the sound of “silence” does not appear to be working. Kudos to those who continue to have personal integrity!

I tip my glass of bubbly to those who assert the truths of the matter! May the cleansing bubbles remove the taste of lies, corruption, deceit and Kool aid from the palate!

  61. Debbie-OMG!!!! You go girl!!!! dm, your days are so numbered! We come back!

    • Ingrid,

I bet DM is still trying to find his head so he can put it back on!

I know, I know… he should try his ass. That’s where it usually is.

  62. Dear All;

I know to most this may seem like nit-picking, but still, being a Scientologist in good standing to me is any Scientologist who practices LRH to the best of their ability. They are all Scientologists in good standing. What the CofS thinks is irrelevent.

I’m very happy that Debbie has finally stood up and spoke, and did so as elequently as she did. Hopefully she’ll continue applying the Doubt formulae and discover just how far gone the CofS really has, well, gone. I’m sure she has absolutely no idea just how far off the rails it has rolled. I hope she writes up what she finds.

Maybe soon she’ll actually investigate and post the true stats compared to the pablum from the CofS PR machine.

She is in a position to make a very great shift in the viewpoints of present members of the CofS, but, she better hurry, you can bet OSA is getting it’s hate maching oiled up and rolling.

    b

  63. She crafted the e-mail from a correct “position” to possibly reach those who STILL can’t see.

The disclaimer about not being connected was correctly included so as to bypass certain “filters” of the mind of those she is trying to reach.

  64. 2012 Message to Miscavige and his minions: Time to RESIGN, Time to RUN, Time to HIDE…

  65. I’m glad that Debbie had this major cognition, even if some time after her own PTSness and following illness. I wish she had had it while hundreds of Good People were being tossed out and trashed and dying or being imprisoned. But wishes don’t carry one very far, do they?

I suppose those who did have the balls to stand up and say NO! and then got declared are now somehow expected to go save the train that already fell off the rails because Debbie woke up one day and noticed an outness?

Debbie denies anyone NOT in good standing? Well, I don’t think much of Debbie then for she appears to still be a victim of Stupidity! WHO does she think carried the ball when SO let it fall????? For all the denigration of the FreeZone, it was where the trained Auditors and certified OT’s and lower level Bridge People went to pick up what SO let go by the wayside. In turn, along with the truly Bright and Competent, it brought out true squirrels who to this day have their mish mashed version of Scientology that they in turn make a buck off of. Don’t expect people like myself to jump up and down over Debbi’s email when I knew and know of Truly Great People who stayed the course out here because of being Bright enough to catch the out tech from the getgo AND then on top of it all, got to hear invalidations of them from the “elite” who actually HELPED Miscaviage F’K it all up!

I doubt this will make it into the comments. LOL BUT this is how the majority out here see the so called Church of Scientology as it exists now and has existed for over twenty years. And it’s how we see Scientologist SO members in general. Sheep. No different than the Sheep out here being discussed from political angles all around the world. We just aren’t very impressed with SO, who had their noses right at the front door to see what was going on and let the SP do it anyway while they polished their brass on SO costumes.. Thanks alot, for NOTHING!

We don’t need any of you who are in Treason or Confusion or any other lower level condition. You are no longer revered , respected, or looked to for guidance of any kind. It is now a New Year. A truly New Year and this game , the way Miscaviage set it up, is OVER!!!! The Real Game is being played right in front of you but Debbie can’t see that cuz she’s still all wrapped up in wanting to be “in good standing”.

Here’s to all those NOT in good standing, may they win the day with L. Ron Hubbard at their side, and I’m not speaking about his apparition.
    Cheers.

  66. The time is here! I forwarded the email to every scientologist I know.

  67. Mike Rinder correctly stated that DM will start DA process. It will be different this time as she was on public lines and her good work was visible to too many. Upper management types are easier to lie about to the public in this manner, by the nature of their duties being behind the scenes.

    Grab the popcorn…

    • Ah, good point Old School. It’d be a bit like trying to DA Heber. Grab the popcorn indeed …

      • Exactly Margaret. The only thing DM can do with Heber is to wait for him to die and then use forged docs to show that Heber approved of DM’s actions as DM KNOWS that Heber is loved.. I bet that is what he plans to do…

  68. Debbie Cook, Sir. Thank you for joining the ranks of 3D Auditors to run out the 3rd Dynamic engram.
I admire what you have done and what you do for Scientology and Scientologists around the globe.
A new session has just begun.
    My TA is already floating.

A great start of this new year!

    Love,
    SKM

  69. Debbie wrote what she wrote. In her FSO time, she has been an opinion leader for some, for some she still is. One day, maybe she will tell about her ideas or plans connected with that email. But whatever ideas may be connected I do not see them as relevant for us. Although she positions herself as “in good standing” and so as being disconnected the messages she puts out are not new to the creators of this blog (I include the writers of comments and readers here as well. They contribute by their interest and understanding.)
It is not really surprising that people, opinion leaders or not, gain an understanding of observations and facts communicated here: There is truth in them and people are taking the chance to remove false concepts they were involved in. Many more are still to reach that point.
Does Debbie’s email change my actions? No! I continue to
    a) hold the position and continue to expose truth,
    b) continue to hold this position,
    c) move into delivery of actual Scientology
    d) deliver it.
Freely quoted: The TA is moving, don’t change anything.

  70. Lets not forget Marty our moderator. He’s going to be very busy on this one. Hope you’re enjoying this as much as I am Marty.

  71. Question With Boldness

I sent Debbie’s letter out to many Scientologist this morning. This is the response from the Southcoast Missioholder. The Southcoast Mission was the Birthday Game winner this year. Would you say that this is OUT MANNERS?

    Debbie Cook Baumgarten
    Month Day, Year

I am emailing you as a friend and fellow Scientologist. As we enter a new year, it is hoped that 2012 can be a year of great dissemination and a year of real progress up The Bridge for all Scientologists.

Although I am not in the Sea Org right now, I served in the Sea Org at Flag for 29 years. 17 of those years were as Captain FSO. I am a trained auditor and C/S as well as an OEC, FEBC and DSEC.

    …………..

    • I sent it to about a dozen Scientologists still in, and only one responded so far. I was amazed to find out that (a) she had already received it, and (b) she fully agreed with it (while her husband is the C/S of the local org). Wow, this will indeed be an interesting year.

      • I’ve now gotten two more responses, both very positive. Neither had received it and were VERY glad I sent it. One is former SO. They are forwarding it on to their on-lines friends.

    • Not surprised by Kim Binfords response, needing to get onto OT 8 has to tow the party line. Let’s not forget that she also commits continuous overt acts, how do you get to be number 1 mission in the world with 0-2 students in your courseooom? Also lots of Auditor code violations, how do you make case gain let alone duplicate a simply stated email citating clear and concise violations of LRH policy when on a daily basis she is violating them herself? 2D record, ok won’t go there, anyone can redeem themselves eventually.

  72. expelled 4 Life

There may not be any goldenrod out on Debbie right now but she is no way in “good standing” anymore. She can no more walk into Flag than the Oval Office right now. She is without a doubt persona non grata at any and all official Scientology events, functions, Orgs or comm lines. Her only way back would be to eat massive amounts of crow. I don’t see that happening. I’ve been waiting for this day for two plus years. Well done Debbie & Wayne!

  73. I just got done reading Debbie’s email then went to Tony Ortagas take on it. I am very glad that she decided to do KSW. The truth of the matter is that we would ALL be in “good standing” if others in the church would just follow LRH. You know take the time to READ and DUPLICATE what LRH said. Then APPLY it. But no, they all just went silent in hopes of “not getting caught”.Then let DM destroy KSW and the church. Those of us that came out of the church did it to say we won’t take it anymore.. We withdrew our support. Some loudly some quietly but we withdrew. A “Way to happiness precept”. I for one am MUCH happier then I was in the church of DM.
I am glad to know that all the letters and KR’s I wrote ended up on the floor, it blows charge for me on the no ack.
Debbie is correct in that those in the church need to READ the policy. Now let’s hope they clear their MU’s and apply the data! WOW what a concept!

    Best,
    Kat

  74. This is so fantastic what Debbie has done. She has actually achieved what I wanted to achieve looking back, but because she is an OL she will be far more effective than I could have ever been. I expect the correct changes to take place in that corrupt org. I agree with Haydn above on how Corporate SCN has failed miserably across the board. I hope this can all be salvaged and that society can once again in a confident and enthusiastic manner reach for the tech they deserve.

  75. Wow!

Thanks MJ for bringing this to my attention. This is a very down to earth great letter. I can’t praise Debbie enough for speaking up. It isn’t just us average former staff and former public who have been affected by or seen the problems within current Scientology. I hope 2012 is our year not only for Independence but for minimizing Miscavige to some backwoods tent being the subject of some reverse Dn for a couple of years while everyone else catches up on some Bridge that he so diligently denied to the masses.

  77. I started forwarding out the letter. As written, it is a good gradient to get people to start looking. It is a huge change to go from drinking Kool-aid to vinegar, and sometimes, you have to water it down. It is a small step from this letter to this blog, and all of us.

As I mentioned in a reply above, there are some Ex-SO highly trained people starting to wake up. My family member is one of them. Some people are clinging to the dream that all this can be done from within – I know it can’t, but each person takes their own journey to the truth. Call it the Dagny Taggard syndrome – clinging to a dying cause come hell or high water. Thanks to all the John Galts here who have shrugged and are doing the work or holding and forwarding the subject until the Dagnys of the world finally wake up. (Love “Atlas Shrugged”!)

In the meantime, 2012 looks to be a great year!

    Happy New Year everyone!

(By the way, Marty, I loved your message yesterday – thanks – it is spot-on. We can let the church consume itself, but we need to ensure that the subject stays as above the fray as possible. I want to thank you and Mosey for putting up with the brunt of it, and I want to extend my thanks to all those here who have directly taken hits from this mad man and his enablers.)

  78. Somehow I knew she’d come out after some time and defusing. I’m so happy she did! Hell yeah Debbie!

Thank you Debbie for the following:

“When I first went up lines I was briefed extensively by David
Miscavige about how bad all of them were and how they had done many things
that were all very discreditable. This seemed to “explain” the fact that the
entirety of the Watchdog Committee no longer existed.”

  82. Reading some of the comments to this post, I realize that I should pass on a little wisdom I have received from the non-Scn world regarding acceptance to change. Yes, there is wisdom out there.

This is called the “Change Curve” and it applies to people who receive news of change (this is usually in a corporate setting – say, a layoff announcement, or a change of leadership. It applies here, and yes, we sure can map it to the tone scale, but this is mapped over time.)

    http://www.structuredtraining.com/news_and_articles/managing-change.htm

    The steps are:

    Stage 1 – Shock
Shock and surprise to the event or announcement.

    Stage 2 – Denial
Denial of the change and finding ways to convince yourself and others that it isn’t really happening.

    Stage 3 – Frustration
On the way down and experiencing anger and frustration. Often accompanied by a tendency to blame others and lash out. No acceptance of the change yet.

    Stage 4 – Depression
Hitting rock bottom and experiencing depression and apathy. Everything seems pointless and purposeless. Lack of self-confidence.

    Stage 5 – Experimentation
This is where people who haven’t given up entirely and opted out of the process, start to experiment with the new situation and try new things out.

    Stage 6 – Decisions
Deciding what works and what doesn’t. Coming to terms with what’s happened and beginning to feel more optimistic and positive.

    Stage 7 – Integration
Integrating the changes into life so it becomes part of the way things are now done.

Most of us on this blog are at the end of this. We get it. But, each person has to move through this.
Shock: “Mr. David Miscavige a criminal and SP?”
    Denial (not-is): “NO!”
Frustration: “Damn that Marty Rathbun! Those damn squirrels and SP journalists!”
Depression: “This means all is lost! Scientology is RUINED!”
Experimentation: “Well, hey! There is another way. Perhaps Independence!”

    etc.

Take a look, and realize that most members are in the very early stages. It take a lot sometimes to break through this. Add to the above Ser Fac tech, and our challenges are real. But, going from 1 to 7 is not possible in a day, or even a week.

This letter is good news, and there will be more good news to come.

  83. This was brilliantly written, timed and presented. One should expect such a tko coming from Debbie. I am sorry that I ever doubted Debbie would do something about dm in defense of LRH. We all have to take whatever amount time is required to decompress, come to grips with what is and make a decision about what side you come out on—LRH or der midget. I do not mean to say that Debbie ever “sided” with dm after seeing what was occurring, just that like me and anyone else on this blog, you have to pick your time to come out of the corner. Seems to me she followed LRH quite exactly and like a good general, made a move that puts her in just the right place to say “Check Mate”. Couldn’t agree more with Mike Rinder’s take on it, it was my own. Following are some FB private comms between me and Debbie, early 2010, when I was at the end of my struggles and ready to write up my Doubt Formula and when the FB Police attacked. She is only following through on what she told me at that time. Brilliant move.
Brilliant application of PR and Ethics Tech.
I think I will offer my services to be her Secretary again, she’s got a lot of mail to answer…LOL!

    • Eileen, I agree with you completely. I am sure this was a long thought out strategy and delivered as a salvo. It is impinging from what I discern from different OL’s being asked for their take on the email. She positioned herself well for the strike and timed it well. This isn’t going away.

    • I agree, Eileen. It’s all about timing, and we each have our own decisions to make on this, coordinate etc.
Wow…I am gone from the computer for a few hours only to return to this.
This is great! I am already making plans to forward this to many of my friends.
      Thank you Debbie!

    • I decided to not post the comm cycle between Debbie and me.

  84. I also received this via e-mail, and responded thanking her. I was glad to hear she had a good opinion of Norm Starkey and some of the others; my impression of Norm was that he is a good guy. I can only assume he goes along with things because he is PTS in some way, or unwilling to look.

It’s amazing how different people can be in their reactions though. I found that in contacting two friends, one was happy that I was confirming her own long-unspoken feelings and has been hungrily reading this blog now, but she thanked me for waiting till she was not mid-service which would have unleashed Hell on her, as it would have read, then “Ethics”, etc.

Another dear friend, unfortunately, could not have it at all and fired backed a lengthy defence of “Holy Mother Church”. I started to answer her, but then thought better of it. She is really so connected to the CoS, depends on a good portion of her income indirectly from it, and it would put her at odds with her kids (who would suffer professionally) and most of her friends, so I decided a gentle withdrawal was best for now. She’s not stupid, a trained pre-OT, and eventually will wake up I hope; if she received Debbie’s mail, I’m hoping it might be like a TR3 from another source than me.

It really demands a lot of courage and confront of people who have centered their lives around an org, not to mention the threat of losing their “eternity” as well as family, so I can understand. But hopefully Debbie’s letter will be the type of comm that such people can have more easily (I guess some cannot from what I’ve read above). But I hope her e-mail has been sent to Europe too!

  85. When DM falls, either by mutiny, going to jail, both, or skipping town, what I wonder is what will happen to the billion with the IAS? Is there any way DM could get away with that money? One of the first steps of reform in good faith in my eyes would be to proportionately return all that money to those who donated it. Return all unspent fundraised money. Return all bought buildings to local org ownership and control to keep or liquidate as they see fit. Reduce prices for services. Well, I’m probably fantasizing now. In any case, the first step is for RCS to pay its Freeloader Debt.

  86. Wow! Certainly some fireworks to bring in the New Year.

I am certainly glad to see this from Debbie Cook. It will be very interesting to see the fallout.

I am guessing that David Miscavige is hell bent on damage control. He will be demanding Debbie be declared in retrospect or something, to try to defuse it. Debbie has the court advantage at this point, it seems, but she will no doubt get the full broadside, if she already hasn’t.

It is certainly going to escalate DM’s insanity. Maybe this is enough to push him over the edge. He may have felt quite “safe” on his prior “handling” of Debbie, she had seemingly been quiet for quite a while.

It looks like she might be harboring some enmity towards the Independents and freezone, because it sounds like she is trying to protect her ethics position by saying she has not communicated with any SP’s. I think she might be feeling that she has committed no “suppressive acts” by her e-mail, but it still counts as a “public statement” due to the number of people who it was sent too, and she is attacking a “scientologist in good standing”( it is amazing that DM could be considered such a thing, but definitely is, within the corporate church), and there is the “inciting to mutiny” aspect as well, just to name a few.

The only way she is going to beat that rap (being declared, and having it stick) is to see that this thing actually takes DM down.

Well…. Methinks it is time to personally pour on the coals,on this thing, and “contribute to the motion”.

Getting her e-mail out to my contacts will be a start.

    Eric S

  87. After thinking things over, her use of the tech, quotes of policy, I am of the opinion that she has been planning this and positioning herself for this e-mail for a long time.

She made sure she left in good standing, remained so, maintained and cultivated comm lines, in order to maximize her impact on her audience.

Bravo! This is indeed a game changer! And when she is declared, I’m sure we’ll hear more!

  88. VWD Debbie, whether you ever get to see this or not.
Wonderful timing and 2012 just became even more exciting with this new player in the game.
12,000 emails of this appropriately Kool-Aid drinker formatted message is a hell of a good reach and it will take on a life of its own from here.
Why she did it is quite irrelevant. Better late than never applies.
It may cause cracks, widen existing cracks, cause a land slide or volcanic eruption, the future looks good with MORE Tone Arm Action where it needs to be gotten off.
May the fur be flying from this process for a long time to come!
I am smiling quite benevolently over someone’s pain in his private parts!
    Greta

  89. The Corp scnists I know are de-friending her. The backlash has started.

  90. Ok, this was really great of Debbie to come forward and take some responsibility, however, one thing I found a bit disturbing is that she is trying to position herself as a “Public in Good standing not willing to talk to the media and not connected to those evil SPs”

Her move does not seem to be well thought out. Obviously, naming David Micavige in an unfavorable light is going to get her declared. So who will be left on her side?

    • Her move does not seem to be well thought out.

      I see it differently.
She is smart. She took this ONLY move and played it well by application of all PR-Series PLs I have ever read.
She knew she has only this one chance to talk to the majority of these people. She adressed her letter to Scientologists still in the church whom she considers the public she served with LRH Tech for so long and for what she feels she is responsible.
I am sure she made her conditions and a good estimation of possible consequencies.

She made a strong postulate if I feel it right. With a nice end-product for both, online Scientologists and Independents.
To be honest, I like what I see.

Debbie will ask for help if needed.
      And she will recieve it.
But meanwhile, let’s see what this “spark” will create in DMs cranky universe.

    • How new are you? or are you a plant?

If someone is not on the side of David Miscavige… and you are posting here on Marty’s blog, that would mean:

a.) You are an Independent Scientologist
b.) You are still active in the CoS, but curious about all this
c.) You are an OSA-bot here to say one thing, do another, lie in between
      d.) None of the above.

To answer your question: who will be left on her side?
Everyone here that is on LRH’s side. Starting with Marty and Mike, and working its way through hundreds if not thousands of others. “Thought you would have gotten that by now.” ~ the Oracle from “The Matrix”

      • A plant for asking a question that doesn’t go with the herd?

      • To answer your question, I have been following this blog and others for quite some time. I am not a “plant”. I am just a regular guy who had the misfortune to be screwed by the CofM big time. I have witnessed human rights violations while in the SO that I still have a hard time to process and still haunt me in night mares. Debbie Cook coming forward in this fashion was a welcome but at the same time also a bit of a disappointment. The flavor I get from her comm is: “I am still drinking the Kool Aid but the fundraising needs to end and we need to follow LRH policy”. Anyways, her comm obviously impinged so I am glad about that.

    • She didn’t say “… not connected to those evil SPs”, she said, “not connected to anyone not in good standing.”

She didn’t say that all people not in good standing are evil SPs.

Also one way of looking at it is that if she would have connected up with anyone not in good standing with the church, then she would have been declared and disconnected from before she would have had the chance to write this email without everyone rejecting it, just because of seeing that it was from her, without even reading it.

  91. Debbie, I have no doubt that you are fully aware of what you are doing. You don’t survive for some 17 odd years as the Captain FSO for nothing, that takes some real smarts for sure. I also believe you are well enough to weather the storm coming to you or you wouldn’t be doing this, if so congratulations for getting strong enough from your battle with your illness to handle this … god speed and may that continue. Last but not least – screw you David for almost killing her you little sociopath/SP, you loser. As Hitler your following is dwindling day by day but a few will adore you to the end, remember though they are psycho’s like you and like you will be despised by the 97.5%.

  92. one of those who see

This is a great day!!!! Well done to Debbie for stepping up and writing a fantastic letter. She is going about this her own way which is fine with me. I am her friend on facebook. I have already read the letter to one person and forwarded it to 3. This is big news. Many more cracks created in the dictatorship today.

  93. This is huge news. Just wondering what DSEC is?

  94. Come hell or high water, I am going to back her up, as I would and do back up the Independents as well. The “Negatrons” have returned and are posting on her site. Brad Balentine posts that it’s not the correct avenue and very offline for that comm. Really Brad? And pray tell, exactly where would that correct, online avenue be? Judy Young tells her she’s wrong on the points that she wrote about because Judy has done research. Well Hallefuckinlujah Judy!! We are so lucky to have you in our midst to set the record straight. Oh, and lest I forget, your pronouncement of the stats speaking for themselves. Seriously?? Like Sue said, the backlash has started…on both sides of the coin.

    • Brad Balentine was the A/G Info for PAC for most of the 70′s and now he is as Marty posted on his blog last month (in reference to other ex-GO) a slave to DM just as all the other ex-GO members.

Interesting he post’s this 30 years after- he used to hunt for PAC Staff DA material in the 70′s and keep “Info” files on them back in the day. After seeing these Facebook messages on Debbie Cook’s FB page before she smartly removed all (Pro’s and Cons on the subject), they were some very nasty messages. These DM Bots are indeed insane. Incredible.

    “Prepare to deliver.”
    Sooooo the correct viewpoint.

The letter from Debbie is very powerful I work with her and she actually help me a lot. If she is with us trust me people is going to listen to her.
Flag was not the same when Debbie went out.
I will back up Debbie 100%. We need more people on board now.
I worked in FSO for 11 years just one month ago I left and I though I will along but now that I see that I have a team here I feel very happy.
    I am with you guys.
    Ml, Cristian Landivar

    • Welcome.

    • “Flag was not the same when Debbie went out” You are not the only one to say this, I talked to a kool-ater who left recently who admitted that it just wasn’t fun anymore after she left. Having to stay up till 3 am to meet the dono quotas just killed it. Good job you little midget for killing off another dedicated lifer…your plan….

  97. Thank you, Debbie Cook. Thank you!

  98. Who is Lombar Hisst ?

Thank you Debbie your write up is great. I hope lots of scientologist will follow your request to don’t participate in anything off
    policy. Greatings from Germany.

  99. Thank You Debbie Cook, you can make a difference!

  100. These are some replies she is getting on her FB – I have been laughing about them like crazy. They all say this is “very offline” – ha! Another says to write IJC!!!!! What the heck is IJC going to do about THAT??! IJC hasn’t any authority to do anything!!! It is just amazing to see the depth of stupidity that these people have allowed themselves to get to. It is actually very funny…

You know that there are other avenues for this type of thing. Did you try an of those before writing?

I read the email. That was NOT the correct avenue for that comm. Very offline.
I did research, you are wrong on the points you wrote. Those who you said are not holding their jobs ARE still holding them as I write this! Many of the other points I wrote you on and you are incorrect. There are generalities in what you wrote.

The stats speak for themselves. The job is getting done and done well. I’m writing this so those who got this post understand.

Please! This discussion does not belong on Facebook.

Write reports and put them on the right line. I did.

Debbie, you ARE connected with people not in good standing with the Church. You say you want to abide by LRH? Well.. critical thoughts and critical comments areand indicator of overts. There are about 500 pages and at least 82 lectures covering this point. Even if you received an injustice, it is still a motivator by definition. My advise to you is to write a KR and/or contact IJC. If you feel an injustice has been made request a Comm Ev and clear your name. If you feel there is something wrong with the Church contact IJC he is per policy the protector of the Church. That is who LRH says you should contact.

This is the WORST format for discussing these issues.

Peeps: Please do not post any information about this on Facebook. Just as she should do the on policy thing, so should we all and put this on the “appropriate lines”. Regardless of your “opinion” or “feelings” or “disgust”, please do not use FB as a form of response to her.

Matteo Calloni I’m NOT in agreement!!

I reckon the account’s been hacked. Everytime I put a post up saying this…it gets deleted!

Do not go into confidential matter on facebook please. This is out security. Use the standard lines and make it known to the correct terminals. This can be someone else than her writting. HCO PL KNOWLEDGE REPORTS applies. It is also an RTC Concern. You can use their site to write it up so that it gets handled quickly. Thank you!

‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’

Debbie, you have my support and that of people here in Clearwater who aren’t known because they don’t want to invite threats of disconnection or business collapse that would be attempted. You knew how easily “friends” turn into judges and jury and convict without inspecting the information let alone differentiating between the importances of them. You are not alone. You have a worldwide network of support and I’m not referring to the “SPs” though I’m sure they are there for you as well.

    This is not ok!

Stop any comments on FB right now! You are providing the enemy with information. Anything on FB gets used by certain gov officials or people working for them(FBI etc…)

  101. Happy New Year! Debbie you have much strength and courage, knowing and willing cause over life, thought, matter, energy, space and time. What a fantastic person.

  102. What a happy start to the New Year. :D

Thank you, Debbie (and Wayne too, I’m sure) for doing what you’ve done here – that took a hell of a lot of courage to outrage DM in so effective a way.

I too believe that Debbie’s way of writing WILL get through to the DMbots like none of us here ever could because we’re all either “SPs” or “squirrels.”

I believe she’s also trying to follow whatever gag order she signed (Marty’s alluded to it before) so that DM can’t pursue her legally for “stepping out of line.”

That “settlement” (undoubtedly signed under coercion from the Cancerous Little Gnome and His minions) really does need to be made public. That I think is the missing piece in this puzzle and would show DM in all His shabby infamy – I would so love to see that piece of paper find its way into the sunlight somewhere.

  103. This is really interesting. I’d heard of Scientology, of course, but before today knew nothing about it. I still don’t, except that it is a technology offers cash for redemption. I guess that sooner or later someone will nail 99 theses to a wall – or is that what just happened?

  107. It’s about time DM is exposed as a corrupt, sadistic megalomaniac whose only purpose in life is the accumulation of power and money at the expense of the members of the church. He is a dangerous criminal and will bring the church down if nothing is done to remove him.

  115. Revenimus writes “Debbie, you ARE connected with people not in good standing with the Church. You say you want to abide by LRH? Well.. critical thoughts and critical comments areand indicator of overts.”

This is the kind of black and white thinking that creates dogma, robotic thinking, lack of common sense, and lack of freedom. Overts are a sufficient but not necessary condition for criticism.

To see how senseless the claim is that criticism always necessarily means overts, consider this: were people who were critical of Nazis during WW II guilty of overts as evidenced by their critical thoughts of Hitler and his policies? Should they have been silenced and ordered to write up their O/Ws?

The statement that criticism requires overts leads to a dead end with no freedom of thought, and serves as a control mechanism to shut people up and for those in power to be shielded from any criticism.

  116. One other comment on the suggestion above that Debbie must have overts as she is leveling charges. Insanity per one definition is A=A=A (anything is equal to anything else). In this case, the writer above who insinuates that Debbie must have overts behind her criticism is exhibiting A=A=A thinking.

Not all criticisms are equal. Some are valid, as I believe Debbie’s are. And KRs are not sufficient when an organization has become degraded enough that any KR that claims a wrong on the part of management is automatically addressed by shuttling the writer of the KR off to a Sec Check or declaring the writer.

Some criticisms fall in the realm of nattering and knowing or unknowing effort to justify one’s own actions — those are the ones that might be resolved by flying ruds or looking at conditions.

Other criticisms are valid and have to be treated as such by any organization to keep itself and its members sane, grounded in common reality, and thriving. To treat factual, sane criticisms dismissively as a signal of overts is a not-is on the part of the person performing the A=A=A logic that leads him/her to conclude that all types of criticism are the same.

(I acknowledge my own bypassed charge on the topic of the widespread illogical interpretations I’ve seen on this topic .)

Clearly you needed a liferaft to cling to – the fact that you chose to cling to an acid dropping mans that started his own religion to make money is more than pathetic. There is nothing real or true about Scientology – it is a made up religion to make a man wealthy – period. Now it appears that another man also wants to get wealthy and is greedy – surprise, surprise. Break free if you can and clear your heads of this garbage.
