Now or Never

  1. Precisely. I looked around at my life and said – whatever I need to do, it’s now or never. I could continue with my low grade hum of depression but basically a successful life, depending on ones point of view, OR I could grab the bull by the proverbial horns and CHANGE my life.

    Now or never.

Once I made the major leap to be THE pilot of my life, to find myself worthy of having my life … instantly I had more time, more energy, better sleep and all the fixin’s …

    Now or never.

    • Windhorse, that is amazing becuase I am happy that you had the OPTION to decide. One day, a long time ago, I was sitting in front of my computer feeling miserable nad stumbled upon the first person I had ever read information from that was critical of the church. I realized THEN that it SHOULD be now or never, like as if I was coming out of a coma! :) I living coma of listening to and trying to believe the Church of Scientology’s lies. And Windhorse, it is not just their lies that one must confront but sometimes ALL the people as well that are swayed by the church’s or the church’s adherents lies. It is nice to know that I never had to lie to anyone about LRH’s tech. If it’s written, that’s what you do! :)

  2. Ahhhh, yes! Love this! It made me dance and shout a little. I just love The Roots, and this song is wonderful. Their lyrics always say a lot.

    “Everything’s changing around me
And I want to change too
    It’s one thing I know
It ain’t cool being no fool
    I feel different today
    I don’t know what else to say…”

A little inspiration for my Sunday? I’ll take it. Thanks, Marty! :)

  3. I am extremely grateful for everything you have done since leaving Scientology.

    Thank you very very much.

Ditto. I got caught up and see you are still blogging. I am following your trial along with the rest of the scientology world….

  4. Why do I get the idea that Now or Never is Marty’s way of saying goodbye to this blog and the chapter of his life that was this blog.

He’s done so much for so many.

I, for one, will miss this daily place to land.

I could of course be wrong :)

    • Wholeheartedly I agree, unfortunately, Windhorse.

Never-the-less, Marty and his imparted knowings, insight and also the countless thoughts of so many others have provided the necessary fortitude and background for so many to achieve “emancipation”.

It’s emancipation from the same abhorrent obsessive-compulsiveness of the founder that espoused and sold “Total Spiritual Freedom” for a considerable profit and position..

I sincerely wish that the few remaining who consider “Ron Is God” get out with minimal damage………

  5. Rock the change.

  6. gretchen dewire

Marty, you have always reminded me of Woody Harrolson in ” White men cant jump” Keep up the good game.

  7. I love you.

  8. great song. great video.

  9. Look and Do. S##t or get off the pot. Living life simple. No hesitation, no regrets.

  10. Cool track, very cool track. Very fresh and unique.

This blog has been magical for me. Each and everyone of you. I have learned much from each of you.

I have seen myself loose my center here. I have seen others loose theirs.

I have heard echoes of my old thought patterns spoken from those newly out or solidly in.

One of the real toxic sillinessess that had to be purged from my consciousness is “saving the world.”

I now consider the concept of “saving the world, clearing the planet” delusional. A sort of disfunction of the ego.

The most looney, I think, are those who have no idea who they are, and somehow feel qualified to help others find themselves.

That one just does not do it for me anymore. It’s much simpler than “saving the world.”

    • I cannot change you… Nor you me.

You can change you… And I me.

If we all did that then the world will change.

Be the change… It is the only thing we can ever really do anyway.

      😊

  11. New chapter, new life…feels good:-)

  12. Marty,
If this is a ‘good bye’ for a while or for good I just want to reach out and give you a BIG HUG and a BIG THANK YOU!!!
It’s been quite a trip and yes, at my beginning here in 2010 I HAD TO BE HERE DAILY until I was able to wean myself off of it.
Meanwhile I have often gone without it, doing my own looking and testing of
    what is all out there.
It has been an incredible education on Scientology, the Co$, LRH, culture,
the road other SO, staff and public had to travel to safely make it over to the other side, either still practicing or not what they learned in the Co$.

I have been able to catch up and learn so much that I was cut off from while in the SO. My knowledge of American Slang has improved greatly.
So many things I had to look up because I had no clue.

Anyway, I could say so much more but you have my full gratitude for putting up with the dumb, ignorant, arrogant, superficial, elegant, witty, thoughtful, intellectual, enlightening and jaw dropping comments of the many here. It’s the enlightening and the witty stuff that has often made my day and moved the day’s tone level into a higher range and thus made
    everything ‘a little better’. :)

  13. For me, change has come as I let go of resisting what is. My name still applies, it’s a process, a gradual letting go. I don’t know if we are just waves on an ocean and the ‘I’ a construct that thinks it can separate from the ocean and make it wave, or if ‘the being’ really is separate from allness. Currently I find the most freedom in just letting life be as it is, and living it.

I have experienced the interaction on this blog over the past 1 1/2 years as a condensed examination and shedding of ideas, and have been introduced to new ideas about spirituality and many, many new ways to look at subjects.

For me, the breadth of spirituality has become such that scientology is now a dot bobbing in the ocean. I still wonder if LRH was right. Are we separate from this universe or a part of it?

Marty, should you continue to share your journey of exploration and moving on up a little higher, I’d love to come along. If ‘this is it’, then I want to thank you for your patience, and for sharing what you have. I’ve moved faster than I ever would have by myself or with other resources.

I’m very grateful to you and Mosey.

  14. Bygones are bygones.
    Ready for the next page
    Right here, right now.

  15. I don’t “believe in it” The Tech. works. I have healed people with it. And yes, it is a religion.

  16. Many commenting here seem to feel this posting is your swan song on this subject.

I hope this is not the case.

But if so, thank you for your voice over these last few years.

I know, am friends with, and love many many people in my life. But it has been only a handful or so that I can say have made a huge difference.

I count you as one of those people. Thank you.

  17. I don’t see how that video is a comment
from Marty he is leaving this blog. Why
would he do that? A couple blogs ago he
ended with this statement….. But, now my attention and intention is directed toward working with those who intuit that there are in fact broader horizons than Scientology permits exploration of.
Aside from working one on one with those who wish to pursue these broader
horizons, surely this blog could be used in that exploration as well.
Remember folks…..before this blog Marty was an auditor. He has logged in many hours in the chair helping people one on one. He has seen people leave these sessions very happy with bright shining faces and a theta twinkle in their eyes. The happiness, serenity and true theta that comes through from a person who was the recipient of the counseling, auditing (whatever you wanna call it) is very hard to forget.
The knowingness that one as an auditor was able to help another attain these heights is very satisfying and enlightening indeed.
However he delivers, administers (whatever you want to call it) these broader
horizons is cool with me. Because I know the point of view behind it. Auditors who understand what they are/were doing have one thing in common…Help. Their willingness to help is beyond compare.
Marty has a very big willingness to help. How he says it or how he does it
is no matter to me. That stuff just never goes away and I don’t think Marty
is really going to go totally away…..his willingness to help is beyond compare. Just a comment of respect from one auditor to another.

  18. Absolutely no one should listen to me about what Marty is or is not saying …

It was a feeling I had – that’s all — I have zero inside/hidden data and frankly it was more a reflection of my own life wherein I am closing several long term chapters in my life.

For me — 2014 is all about intelligently closing chapters that are no longer serve and stepping forward into new chapters.

Often I tend to see something in someone else that is absolutely not what the other person intended … it’s called … projection :)

  19. I repeat what Alanzo says.
“I am extremely grateful for everything you have done since leaving Scientology.”

    Thank you very very much.

  20. Hi Marty, A short story by the great writer J F Powers called “Prince of Darkness” highlighted the moral corruption of the Catholic church. In
the story, the Archbishop demotes a priest who places his worldly ambitions over his spiritual duties. His rebuke is very instructive: “I trust that in your new assignment, you will find not peace, but a sword.” In other words; now or never.

  21. I am not quite sure how folks are concluding that “Now or Never” is a sort of goodbye. Mosey and Marty have a lawsuit against Miscavige underway as you recall, and the current recess is so that Miscavige can be deposed (see Dec. 13, 2013 story on Tony Ortega’s blog). Sounds like a “now or never” to me.
